We're Hiring: Production Operative

Location: Unit 4, Buttington Cross Enterprise Park, Welshpool, SY21 8SL

Hours: Mon - Thurs 6am - 4pm (38 hours)

Are you reliable, hands-on, and ready to be part of a fast-paced production team? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Production Operative to join our business.

Key Tasks:

• Operate machines in the most productive and efficient manner.
• Monitor quality of output at all times, and immediately report any defect to raw materials or finished goods.
• Accurately complete all production work tickets for each job and communicate with your Team Leader.
• Ensure that all working areas are kept clean and tidy.
• Follow all health and safety/standard operating procedures at all times.
• Carry out any additional tasks as and when requested to do so.
• To communicate any quality or process improvements that would help the better running of your area.

What we're looking for:

• Reliable and punctual
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Willing to learn and grow

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome Dave Jones from Myrick Training to Morland to present Shane Evans and Lisa Andrew with their Certificates of Completion for the ILM Level 3 in Leadership and Management. 🎓

Both Shane and Lisa have been with Morland for well over 10 years, progressing their careers within the business to now manage teams and play a vital role in our continued success. We’re incredibly proud of their achievement and dedication! 👏

We're Hiring!

We're looking for a Business Admin apprentice to join our team. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification.

Role: Business Admin apprentice
Location: Unit 4, Buttington Cross Enterprise Park, Welshpool, SY21 8SL

Looking for someone with a genuine interest in the field, a good work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week.

What you’ll get:

What the role includes:
• Handling inbound and outbound calls with customers and prospects

🏔 They Did It! 🏔

7 incredible Morland team members (plus 2 amazing support crew)
⛰ 3 Peaks
🚶‍♂️ 24.6 Miles
⬆ Over 5,000 ft of elevation
👟 60,000+ steps each
⏰ 1:30am departure from Welshpool
🌧 A large dose of torrential wind and rain

But the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge was completed in just 9 hours 51 minutes!

Together, they’ve raised over £1,200 for Macmillan Cancer Support – and there’s still time to donate to this incredible cause. Every penny makes a difference. 💚

🚨 Something big is on its way… 🚨

Over the last week, members of our team have been visiting our partner, Barberan, for a factory acceptance test of our new flagship ECO2 lamination line.

This major investment will bring increased capability, capacity, and efficiency to our operations — a big step forward for Morland. The line will be arriving in Welshpool soon, with commissioning set to take place over the next 6–7 weeks.

We can’t wait to share more soon…

Au cours de la semaine dernière, des membres de notre équipe ont rendu visite à nos partenaire, BARBERAN, pour des tests de validation en usine de notre nouvelle ligne de lamination ECO2.

Cet investissement majeur augmentera non seulement la capacité, également l'efficacité et de plus grande compétence dans la conduite de nos opérations — un grand pas en avant pour Morland. La ligne arrivera bientôt sur notre site à Welshpool, avec la mise en service prévue dans 6 à 7 semaines.

Some of our amazing team members are gearing up to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge — a 24-mile (38.6km) trek with 1585m (5200ft) of ascent, all in under 12 hours! 🥾⏱️

They’ll be conquering Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m) – three iconic peaks in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park – all to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. 💚

This is no small feat, but it’s for an incredible cause that’s close to many of us.

🌟 Farewell to Two Morland Legends 🌟

This week, we said a fond farewell to not one, but two of our long-serving team members.

🎉 Martin Ward is retiring after an incredible 32 years with Morland.
🎉 Gwynn Jones is stepping into retirement after an astonishing 48 years with us!

The knowledge, experience, and dedication they’ve brought to the business over the decades have been truly invaluable, and they will be missed by all of us.
