Today marks 20 years since the devastating 7/7 bombings that occurred in London killing 52 people and injuring 770.
And also my first ever day of joining the Resus team at St Thomas’s hospital A&E.
A first day at work, il never forget.
I remember our first patient so clearly, the fear in my stomach and the adrenaline pumping through my veins.
I remember once his was stabilised, removing a watch strap embedded in his arm but seeing his own watch still wrapped around his other wrist.
Hats off to all the emergency services that worked that day, the skill, bravely and resilence shown that day and everyday since is what makes this country what it is.
(If only the payslip’s reflected the same)
