The NHS is raising awareness of SARCs – a specialist service that offers free care and support to anyone who’s been r***d or sexually assaulted at any time in their life.

They are available to call for an appointment 24/7 across England, however, many r**e and sexual assault survivors do not know where to go or who to turn to for help.

When someone visits a SARC, the team will listen and care for them in a space that is safe. If the individual chooses not to involve the police or report what happened, help is still available. The team will talk through the different options and will never tell them what to do.

SARCs provide more than just medical care – they’re here for you, when you need them. If you have been r***d or sexually assaulted and don't know where to turn, go to https://orlo.uk/K5h38 to find out more, including your nearest service.

Members of the HUC dental team recently attended a training session delivered by The Return Project, focusing on behavioural motivation for patients accessing urgent dental care.

The session explored the barriers patients face in accessing routine dental services and highlighted the importance of calm, reassuring communication when supporting anxious patients. This learning will help HUC teams better support patients through NHS 111 and urgent dental care services, encouraging appropriate use of services and long-term dental health. The training was well-received by the attendees.

Thank you to The Return Project team for delivering an engaging and insightful session. Read the full blog here: https://orlo.uk/CdChj

Today is Time to Talk Day, the nation's biggest mental health conversation.

Opening up about mental health can be as simple as starting a conversation. Text a friend, chat to a colleague over a cuppa, go for a walk with a loved one or share something on social - there’s no right or wrong way to do it, and it can all play a part in making a real difference. Even the smallest conversation can help.

Today is World Cancer Day, a time to come together, raise our voices, and take steps toward closing the gap in cancer care.

According to the World Health Organisation, roughly 40% of cancers are preventable through healthy habits, including regular screenings and staying active. Small actions today can lead to big victories tomorrow.

Check in: Book that screening you've been putting off, or talk to your GP about any concerns.
Support: Reach out to someone in your life who has been affected. A little kindness goes a long way.
Learn: Visit https://orlo.uk/PPA6U to learn the early signs and symptoms.

Together, we can make a difference!
