Community Pharmacy Hertfordshire Community Pharmacy Hertfordshire (Herts LPC) represents all pharmacy contractors in Hertfordshire - big & small. Girish Mehta is the chairperson of the LPC.

Community Pharmacy Hertfordshire is for all pharmacy contractors in Hertfordshire . We are a body of two parts -

Part 1 - the committee of elected and nominated pharmacists from all sectors of community pharmacy. They meet six times a year to discuss pertinent matters that affect the practice of pharmacy in Herts. Girish works in Watford and is very active in raising the profile of community pha

rmacy in that area. Ingrid Cruickshank is the vice-chair of the LPC. Ingrid is an area manager for Lloyds Pharmacy. Part 2 - the executive team (Helen, Jeanette, Sara and Sally) who are employed to work on your behalf to further the cause of pharmacy in Herts. Helen our Executive Officer and Jeanette our Implementation Manager work hard to raise the profile of community pharmacy in the ever changing local health and social care environment. This includes engaging with our local MPs, patients, members of emerging GP consortia, public health colleagues and the PCT team members. Sara and Sally are the office administrators. They deal with day to day functions of the LPC office including supporting the Community Pharmacy Patient Questionnaire. The LPC works locally with Primary Care Trusts (PCTs), Local Authorities and other healthcare professionals to help plan healthcare services. The LPC negotiates and discusses pharmacy services with PCTs and is available to give advice to community pharmacy contractors and others wanting to know more about local pharmacy. We liaise closely with our medical equivalent - The Local Medical Committee (LMC) so that GPs and Pharmacists can work together to deliver services to patients.

Don't Let Insect Bites Ruin Your Summer Fun! ☀️🦟
The beautiful weather is perfect for enjoying nature, but it also means more insects are out and about! While you're protecting yourself with insect repellent, sometimes bites still happen.
If you're worried about an infected insect bite (for anyone over one year old), remember your local pharmacy can help with the Pharmacy First service. There's no need to wait for a GP appointment – simply walk in! Your pharmacist can assess the bite and provide suitable medication if needed.
Stay safe, enjoy the sunshine, and think Pharmacy First!

With all this beautiful weather we are having, people are out more, spending more time in nature, which is great, but this increases the risk of insect bites 🪰 and especially the risk of these bites getting infected. Infected insect bites are one of the 7 clinical conditions under Pharmacy First for patients over a year old and you can raise awareness about this and the other clinical conditions to help promote Pharmacy First! You can find a number of resources available on the CPE Website: https://cpe.org.uk/national-pharmacy-services/advanced-services/pharmacy-first-service/
