🙌 Happy International Women’s Day! 🙌

I am very fortunate to have a lot of incredible women in my life; from family and friends to business women I’ve met / worked with and a lot of incredible women I’ve met through networking (some of whom are pictured below)

Being a woman can be hard sometimes but seeing the strength that so many amazing women have shown over my lifetime (and before!) is just so empowering

Even going through pregnancy I have a new found respect for how bloomin hard it can be! Don’t get me wrong it’s the most incredible experience ever but it’s not easy and what a woman’s body is created to do is just unbelievable!

Today I will be thinking about all the amazing woman in my life and how they have helped me become the woman I am today!

With LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and probably another 25 other ones that have been introduced since I last looked - it’s no wonder that social media is one of my most popular services

With so many platforms to juggle, it becomes a chore rather than something enjoyable to shout about your business!

Some advice from your friendly VA - do not bother wasting your time posting to 10 different social media channels. Think about where you get most of your business/networking from and target a couple of those at most!

For me, my business isn’t particularly “visual” (which is why you get to see me posting my ugly mug every now and then as I don’t have pretty products I can show you) so Instagram doesn’t bring in as many clients as it would for, say, a designer. So I tend to focus my social media efforts on LinkedIn and Facebook. I do also have an Instagram presence (which is why you may be reading this on Insta) because with meta office suite when I post to Facebook it does instagram at the same time so why not. But my point is, focus your energy where it matters most otherwise your just wasting valuable time you could be investing elsewhere.

Also take advantage of the tools social media has such as post scheduling where you can schedule your posts for weeks in advance!

💫 Happy National Data Privacy Day 💫
I know it's been marked in your diaries for weeks! 😏

But in all seriousness - although the champagne corks won't be flying to celebrate the day, the message behind the day is a very important one

When I started my business, I spent weeks trying to get my head around all the data privacy jargon and rules, and to be honest, I got myself in a bit of a tizzy about it. BUT, I quickly realised I was making life way more difficult than it needed to be!

Data Privacy is a legal requirement and if you run a business and deal with ANY personal data (clients, customers, patients) then you need to make sure you are covered. It sounds scary but once you have your head around it, it's easy.

As a VA, I wouldn't work with a business that doesn't have a data privacy policy, and before I commence work with any new client, I will send you a copy of the privacy policy for you to read and sign (again that sounds scary, but its really not - it just means I promise not to sell your data on to the highest bidder!)

✨ This is the exact reason that I still offer transcription as a service even though AI can do it for free ✨

AI technology is incredible. To be honest it kinda scares me how clever it is! But transcription still has a long way to go!

The below was a voicemail my lovely mother left for me yesterday asking me to pick her up some shopping due to her having a poorly foot. While AI got most of it right (gold star) there were some key errors which gave us a good chuckle:

Neither me or my mother are called Bobby and it was in fact not sunny yesterday (this like was meant to read “hi darling, it’s only me” - no idea where Bobby even came from)

Secondly, the place in which I went shopping was ‘London Colney’, not ‘Lemon Coney’ - although I can confirm I will never be calling it London Colney ever again now 🤣

While this gave us all something to chuckle about in a Sunday morning, in the workplace this isn’t great. Imagine an important HR meeting taking place and the notes being circulated after with some serious errors in - not so funny!

This is exactly why transcription services still have a place in the workplace!

Robots are great, but some things still need that human touch
