Colon hydrotherapy removes waste, toxins and compacted faecal matter from the colon. Often, this has been stuck and causing discomfort to the person, so the relief after treatment is welcomed!

When we carry out treatments, we can also often pick up early signs of gut health related issues which mean we can send our clients to see their GP if needed.

Colonics are more than just vanity - they can be an important part of a wellbeing routine for many of our clients!

We're so grateful for our long-time clients!

Thankyou to our client Vanessa for this lovely review...

"I’ve been seeing Sarah for colonics for over 3 years and I can’t do without them or her. Sarah is very knowledgeable and puts you at ease with any issues or concerns I may have. The treatment itself, I find relaxing given the room is warm and cosy which creates a calming environment. Post treatment leaves me feeling amazing. Would 100% recommend."

Here's the second instalment of our client's first treatment blog. Scroll back a few posts for part 1.

“I headed through to the bathroom, had been asked to have a wee, then I stripped off my clothing and underwear from the waist down (apart from my socks, which apparently could stay on!) I’d been a bit nervous on the lead up as I’d been on my period but Jane had reassured me that it was fine and that as long as sanitary products were removed beforehand, there were no issues.

I was given a blanket to wrap around myself then I head back out into the clinic.

Jane asked me to lay down on the bed next and she started to explain the equipment to me and what would be happening. Firstly though, she had a feel of my tummy so she could figure out what may be going on.

She could immediately tell I had lots of trapped gas high up in my stomach. Things fell distended so she mentioned she would be using some Licorice Root and Fennel tincture in the water to help release the gases.

Jane got things ready and asked me to lay on my side. She started things off by inserting the tube which I couldn’t even feel. She asked me to relax and breathe deeply whilst she did this which really helped.

She then started the water flowing and apart from a slightly warm feeling, it didn’t feel weird at all!"

Third and final part to come next week.

When you leave the clinic after your colon hydrotherapy treatment, it's easy to think that it's done and dusted and that you can just go about your day as normal, but there are a few things to avoid to help your body readjust.

1️⃣ Don’t overeat. Eat simply cooked food and small portions. A diet rich in vegetables, (especially dark green and leafy) salads, and a little fruit will add to the cleansing effect and help to regulate the bowels.

2️⃣ Avoid rigorous exercise and weight lifting for 24 hours after treatment.

3️⃣ Avoid alcohol for at least 48 hours.

4️⃣ If your digestion is weak, don’t drink with meals or for 30 minutes before or 1 hour after meals.

Head to the aftercare page on our website for more tips and advice about how to look after your body post-treatment.

Such welcome bowel cancer news has been announced overnight by the NHS 😀

NHS England have announced that from next month, they will lower the threshold for a home-screening kit to trigger urgent cancer testing, meaning that they will be checking thousands more people identified with even smaller traces of blood in their poo.

It is estimated that the change could help detect around 600 more bowel cancers early each year in England – around an 11% increase – and find 2,000 more people with high-risk polyps in their bowel, allowing patients to have preventative surgery before any cancers develop.

This is wonderful news!

We love this illustration of what to expect when you come for treatment. Though we have to say, we're not sure we like the word additive 🙈 Spring water and natural tinctures are what is added!

This piece was written by one of our lovely clients about her first colon hydrotherapy treatment. We've split it into a couple of parts. This part explains why she decided to come, a bit about the booking and consultation process 💜

"A few months ago my partner had a cancer scare and had to have a colonoscopy due to bleeding. Luckily, everything was fine but it really made me rethink my own gut health and nutrition. After following Jane on social media and hearing about the benefits of colon hydrotherapy, I decided to take the plunge and give my colon a detox!

I was nervous about the process and how it might feel but I guess it’s good to have a cleanse every now and again. I suffer badly with bloating after having a baby a few years ago and I heard that it might help so it can’t do any harm!

I booked in and had great communication from Jane who kept in touch on the run up to my treatment. I filled in the health questionnaire, which was really in-depth. I definitely didn’t understand some of what was asked but I went along with it anyway. It took a while to fill in but I loved the fact I could save and carry on later, it took me a couple of go’s to finish it.

When the day in question arrived I was so nervous. When I’m nervous or anxious it goes straight to my tummy so I spent most of the morning on the loo - surely there couldn’t be much left to come out?! Little did I know!

I drove to Jane’s clinic and was warmly welcomed into the consultation area where we sat down and had a really in-depth chat through my health questionnaire.

Jane made sure to explain why each thing was being asked about which I appreciated. I was then led through into the clinic and Jane explained what she wanted me to do next."

Part 2 next week. Head to our site for more info about treatment and to book.
