It seems like washing your face is the simplest part of skincare.
Yet, this is where the most common problems I see with clients arise.
Skin shouldn't feel "tight" after cleansing. If you experience this feeling, it's a sign that the skin's protective barrier has been compromised.
And this is more important than many people realize.
When the hydrolipid barrier is weakened, the skin begins to defend itself.
This can lead to:
• overproduction of sebum
• irritation
• a feeling of dryness
• increased sensitivity to external factors
This is often the moment when a vicious cycle begins—skin becomes dry, so we start using more products, which further strains it.
In practice, in addition to specialized salon treatments, it's often enough to make a few small changes to your daily cleansing routine to notice an improvement in your skin's appearance.
- remembering to cleanse your face daily
- lukewarm water
- gentle facial products
- a separate towel for drying your face
It's these small habits that make the biggest difference in the long run.
In the next posts in this series, I'll show you how to support your skin in a simple and conscious way—without a complicated skincare routine.
If you'd like to learn how to care for your skin at home and prepare it for regenerative treatments, stay tuned.
And if you're in West Drayton or the surrounding area, during consultations, I also assess your cleansing routine and tailor your skincare routine to your individual needs.
My next post will be about a product that has a huge impact on the rate of skin aging.
