We have been getting ready for VE Day here at Drayton Village Care Centre , and there has been a lovely sense of togetherness as our amazing residents joined our wonderful activities team to paint bright red poppies 🌺

Each one was carefully painted, with plenty of chats along the way about memories, stories and what the day means to them. It has been so special to see everyone come together to create something beautiful for our windows across Drayton Village 💜

We are always proud to mark this occasion and remember the soldiers who gave so much during the Second World War. How will you be marking VE Day this year?

Gardening week brought a lovely burst of colour to Drayton Village Care Centre as our wonderful residents spent time planting flowers and getting the garden ready for the warmer months 🌸

There was a real sense of pride as everyone helped fill the hanging baskets, carefully choosing where each plant should go. Lots of chats, a few laughs, and plenty of muddy hands along the way made it all the more enjoyable 💜

We cannot wait to see the baskets hanging up around our bar area, just in time for summer BBQs in the garden. What flowers would you choose for your perfect summer display?

April didn’t feel like one big moment across our homes, but lots of smaller ones and that’s what made it so special 💜

There were Easter crafts, feasts, time spent outside as the weather picked up, and plenty of conversations sparked along the way. We also took time to recognise Autism Acceptance Week and Parkinson’s Awareness Week, creating space to learn, reflect and support one another.

St George’s Day brought a bit of fun and familiarity too, with simple touches that made people smile 🏴

It’s these everyday moments that shape life in our homes, not just the celebrations, but the time spent together in between.

A big thank you, as always, to our teams for everything they do to make those moments happen

We turned up the music and stepped into a little bit of MJ magic with our very own themed cocktail afternoon at Drayton Village Care Centre 💜

Our “Smooth Criminal” residents got into the spirit straight away, enjoying a mix of cocktails and mocktails while choosing their favourite Michael Jackson songs. There were a few brilliant fancy dress moments too, which brought plenty of laughter and smiles all around 😊

Before long, the room was filled with singing, a bit of dancing, and that lovely buzz you get when everyone is just enjoying themselves. Add in some beautifully made cupcakes and sweet treats, and it really felt like a proper celebration 🧁

It was such a fun afternoon and one we will be talking about for a while… Can we get a Hee Hee? 💜

We marked St George’s Day with a proper British lunch here at Drayton Village Care Centre , and it was one to remember 💜

Our lovely residents sat down to a comforting plate of homemade pie, mash and liquor, with a few classic British tunes playing in the background to set the mood. There was plenty of chat around the tables, with everyone enjoying both the food and the music.

Of course, we had to finish on something sweet. Bread and butter pudding went down a treat, and later on we kept things going with scones, clotted cream and jam, which disappeared very quickly 😊

It was a lovely way to celebrate together, full of familiar flavours and happy moments.

We had such a lovely baking afternoon at Drayton Village Care Centre making Nutella filled pastries 💜

Our lovely residents really enjoyed getting hands on with the process, carefully preparing and filling each pastry with plenty of Nutella before baking them to perfection. The room was full of chatter and anticipation as the sweet smell started to fill the home 😊

Once they were ready, everyone came together to enjoy what they had made and, of course, there were plenty to go around for everyone to share.

National Grilled Cheese Day gave us the perfect excuse to get the toasties on and treat our residents to something warm and comforting 💜

We had a little menu going with classic cheese, cheese and tomato, or cheese and onion, all freshly made to order just the way everyone likes it. The smell alone had everyone smiling, and it wasn’t long before the first bites were followed by a few happy nods of approval

There’s something about a simple toasted sandwich that brings back lovely memories, and it sparked plenty of chats around the table too. A cosy, tasty afternoon enjoyed by all

As it’s Stress Awareness Month, we thought it was the perfect excuse to slow things down and treat our residents to a little relaxation 💜

We turned the day into our very own spa experience here in our home, with gentle hand care, soothing foot spas and plenty of time to sit back and be pampered. There were smiles all around as everyone enjoyed a bit of well deserved “me time” 😄

It was such a calm and comforting day, filled with light chats, laughter and that lovely feeling of being looked after. Sometimes it’s the simplest moments that make the biggest difference 🥰

Our Easter Tea Party was a truly special celebration filled with warmth and togetherness 💜

Our lovely residents gathered together to enjoy an early Easter tea party, surrounded by sweet Easter themed treats and the gentle sound of music playing in the background. The atmosphere was calm, joyful and full of smiles as everyone settled in to enjoy the occasion 🐣🍰🎶

As the afternoon unfolded, residents shared stories and reminisced about past Easter celebrations with family and friends, creating meaningful conversations and moments of connection. It was a beautiful way to celebrate the season, bringing comfort, happiness and a sense of nostalgia to all who took part 😊💜✨

From raising awareness during Nutrition and Hydration Week to enjoying the energy and fun of St Patrick’s Day, there has been something for everyone to take part in. We also proudly celebrated International Women’s Day, recognising the inspiring women within our communities, and marked Mother’s Day with thoughtful moments of love, gratitude, and reflection 🌷 🚺 🍎 🍀

Life across our 46 homes is shaped by these moments, both big and small. They create a sense of belonging, spark conversation, and bring joy to everyday life, making each home a vibrant and supportive place to live 🏡💜

Our Easter Floristry Class was a truly blooming success 🌸🐣

Our lovely residents came together to create beautiful flower arrangements, each one full of colour, creativity, and the joy of the season. Their stunning displays were shared around the care home, brightening up our lounges and reception area for everyone to enjoy 🌷💟

It was a wonderful way to celebrate Easter, bringing residents together, sparking creativity, and spreading cheer throughout the home. Every arrangement reflected the care and personality of the person who made it, making the home feel even warmer and more welcoming 🐰✨

Just some Easter fun here at Drayton Village Care Centre 💜

This week, our lovely home was filled with laughter, creativity and springtime joy as our wonderful residents, families and staff came together for a fun Easter photoshoot. Smiles were everywhere as everyone got involved, capturing special moments and celebrating the season in a truly heart-warming way 📸🐣

Throughout the week, residents enjoyed a variety of activities including arts and crafts, delicious hot cross buns and, of course, a special Easter egg for everyone. These shared experiences brought a wonderful sense of togetherness, making it a joyful and memorable celebration for all 🐰🍫✨
