Having a baby changes you mentally and physically and it's so important to have these discussions before the baby arrives, try to develop a strong support network around you with people who understand.

PANDAS Wellbeing Workshop Series - Pregnancy: Emotionally preparing for parenthood, Saturday 29th October, 9.30am

We spend a lot of time and energy preparing to care for our baby when it arrives – but what about caring for ourselves as we navigate this huge life change? The change in our lives when a baby arrives is monumental. It can be almost impossible to imagine all the different feelings that you will experience – some pleasant and some difficult.

This workshop provides a space to have honest conversations about parenthood – what are your worries? What might be the challenges? How will you cope?
We will explore skills and strategies that you can use throughout your whole journey of parenthood to deal with some of the more challenging thoughts and feelings. The activities that we will practice in the session will help you to stay connected with and care for yourself and your baby.

This workshop will help you prepare for the emotions of parenthood and set you up for a more balanced, connected start of your parenting journey.

Each workshop runs for 1.5 – 2 hours and is facilitated by an experienced perinatal mental health therapist. Every session will include useful materials such as worksheets and audio recordings.

The workshops will be held over zoom and each session costs £40*

We are also accepting donations in kind for these workshops, so if you would kindly like to donate the cost of a workshop so that it can go to someone in need we’d be so grateful

This is a huge crisis and there is just not enough public uproar about it. If we loose midwifery led care then birth will become more medicalised. There is not one magic answer to solve this issue but it needs to addressed by the government and the NHS immediately!

The Royal College of Midwives is calling for investment in maternity services.

Loving these badges, should be rolled out at all hospitals, often people don't even realise home birth is an option!

Have you seen our midwives wearing our new ‘ask me about homebirth’ badges?

These badges have been designed to encourage discussions around homebirths. Midwives will discuss homebirths with women and birthing people when they’re discussing their birthing plans.

Our community midwives will ensure all women are given the opportunity to give birth at home if they would like to.

Introduction time!

I’m Erin a KG Hypnobirthing practitioner. I first came across Hypnobirthing when I was pregnant with my first child. Me and my husband didn’t really know what to expect from a Hypnobirthing class, we thought it sounded a bit wishy-washy but we were open to learning more. During the course my brain had so many light bulb moments, things just clicked into place, I didn’t understand why it wasn’t something we were all taught! Realising that by learning about my physiology and practicing the techniques I could allow my mind and body to work in unison was incredibly empowering.

This is why I’ve set up Journey to Birth so I can empower other women to have the best possible birth for them.
