Congratulations to the kitchen team for achieving a 5-star food hygiene rating!
Instead of an employee of the month for January, we decided to award the whole kitchen for their hard work this month! Thank you Helen, Jade, Anish and Shanaka for providing delicious food to both the residents and staff, and for accommodating everyone's preferences.

Sometimes we like to celebrate less conventional holidays at Ashtonleigh! On the 15th of January it was international hat day and everyone was encouraged to wear their favourite or silliest hat. The activities team hosted a hat parade and the residents enjoyed a hat themed word search. Everyone looked very fashionable!

On January 25th, we celebrated the Scottish tradition of Burns Night. This date honours the life of Scottish poet Robert Burns. We spent the morning playing a Scottish-themed bingo game, and in the afternoon, we enjoyed tasting haggis and Scottish shortbread, as well as reading poetry by Robert Burns. Everyone looks great in the tartan hats!

One of the most popular activities at the care home is flower arranging! Our residents love learning the art of floristry from our activities team. On 22nd December, our staff treated our residents to a wonderful pantomime performance.
It was a fantastic afternoon full of laughter and festive cheer, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
