This was a hard one for me.

I didn't even know how to describe how it felt.

The world didn't spin around me.

I didn't lose my balance.

My vision didn't change.

It could happen at any point, standing, sitting, or even lying down.

I made sure I was hydrated and ate regularly.

It was like a rush through my head

The doctor would look at me funny when I described it.

Talk about making someone feel like it's all in their head 🫣

"It's just anxiety" is all I would be told.

Making me feel like it was all in my head.

Anxiety isn't just in your head.

It's in your body, too

Anxiety causes physical symptoms.

Those physical symptoms stopped me leaving the house.

Made me cancel plans.

Completely shrunk my world.

But I found a way out. And you can too.

Do you ever wish you could turn off your thoughts and stop the loop of constant worry?

πŸ’₯🧠 Here's a little brain hack to help you do just that!

Any time you notice your negative thoughts making you worry and feel anxious. Take a moment to pause and think of *5 things* that have been good in the last 24 hours.

⭐️ It doesn't need to be huge big things.

⭐️ It doesn't need to be massive achievements.

⭐️ It can be as simple as noticing the sun in the sky 🌀

⭐️ The birds chirping 🐦

⭐️ Wearing your favourite jumper πŸ‘š

⭐️ The first sip of your hot tea or coffee in the morning β˜•οΈ

When you consciously interrupt the negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones, you instantly shift into the intellectual part of your brain. This is the part where you feel your absolute best. Anxiety, low mood, and anger don't exist there.

➑️ Save this for the next time you're worrying about something and you need to calm that anxious mind!

This was only a few months ago.

Throughout 2024, I became stuck in a horrible cycle of anxiety and panic attacks.

I became convinced that if my heart rate increased too much, I would have a heart attack.

I constantly checked my heart rate on my fitbit.

I constantly scanned my body for signs of my heart being in distress.

I avoided anything that would cause my heart rate to increase too much.

I cancelled plans.

I avoided everyone and pretty much everything.

I didn't realise that all of these things I was doing to avoid anxiety were keeping me stuck.

3 things you should stop doing right now!

1. Negative self-talk - stop itβœ‹οΈ treat yourself like your best friend, your lover. Show yourself that same kindness and compassion.

2. People pleasing - stop giving your power away to others. Don't do things to please others, especially when it's detrimental to you.

3. Focusing on what you don't want - what we focus on, we attract. The Law of Attraction! Focus on what you do want, put your energy into that and watch your life transform!

Feel the fear and do it anyway πŸ’ͺ

When we feel anxious and stop ourselves doing something, we confirm to our brain that it's dangerous, that we should feel anxious about it.

When we do the opposite, when we push through and do the thing we are scared or feeling anxious about . . . We are telling our brain that it's safe!

We create a new neural pathway in our brain 🧠

The more we do that thing we are scared of, the stronger that new neural pathway becomes.

Imagine it like creating a path through an overgrown forest 🌳

The more we walk that path, the more the weeds and overgrowth reduce. Until eventually, there is a clear pathway.

This is exactly what happens in our brain.

And the old pathway, the one where we felt scared or anxious ... that slowly becomes overgrown and eventually disappears.

It suggests that our doubts can cripple our abilities.

In a broader sense, it speaks to the importance of maintaining a positive mindset and believing in oneself to achieve great things.

Doubt can be paralysing, preventing us from reaching our full potential or even attempting something extraordinary.

When we doubt our capabilities, we limit ourselves and lose the opportunity to soar to new heights.

Believe you can't and you won't.

Believe you can, and you will!
