Sian Kater

Sian Kater Complementary Medicine practitioner since 1990; Classical Homoeopathy, Therapeutic Massage, Reflexology, Jikiden Reiki, Flower Essences. Teach Jikiden Reiki.

Empower clients to greater happiness, health and freedom. I have worked in Complementary Medicine for 25 years, having a background in Therapeutic Massage, Reflexology, Classical Homoeopathy, Reiki and Flower Essences. I also teach Jikiden Reiki and hold workshops on Flower Essences, First Aid Homoeopathy and self-development. I have a wide experience of clients of diverse backgrounds and have wor

ked in a variety of clinics, including treating both patients and carers in the Ardgowan Hospice. My work has included conditions from pregnancy and birth to old age, emotional and mental disturbances, hormonal imbalances and auto-immune illness, to name but a few. My approach has always been holistic, treating the person as a whole, mental, emotional and physical, rather than viewing them as a group of unrelated symptoms. My interest in self-development and spiritual growth over the years has led me to develop my own unique way of working with clients, allowing sessions to be adapted to individual needs. I have found that because I am honest, clear, unafraid and sensitive to what is going on for the client, they can relax, open up and trust the healing process wherever that might lead, often feeling safe for the first time in their life. Employing various techniques such as guided visualisation, meditation, counselling and breath work, clients are empowered to take responsibility for their own health and well-being; using practices that are simple, direct and effective, clients learn tools they can readily access by themselves to gain greater happiness, independence and freedom in their lives. In an increasingly insecure and chaotic world, my focus is on reorienting people to first find security and happiness within themselves so that they can negotiate life with confidence rather than be at its mercy.

Jikiden Reiki Course Level 1 [Shoden] 23rd/24th November in West Kilbride

Jikiden, meaning ‘directly passed down’ is the pure, authentic Japanese Reiki untouched by Western influence. Its power and effectiveness is due to the fact that nothing has been added to it or left out; safe and simple, it includes vital techniques lost to Western Reiki. This hands-on-healing can be used from pregnancy to old age and no prior experience or knowledge is needed to learn it. Take responsibility for your health into your own hands and help yourself, family and friends to physical, emotional and mental well-being, peace and tranquility.

Sian has practised Complementary Medicine, including Reiki, for over 25 years, working with a wide variety of psychological and physical conditions. She has treated a diverse range of patients including newborn babies, children with autism, hospice patients and carers, and people finding it difficult to come to terms with past events or cope with the stresses of life.

She practised Western Reiki until discovering Jikiden Reiki which only came to the West in recent years. She was amazed by the simplicity, power and effectiveness of this authentic Reiki that has remained unchanged in Japan since the time of its founder Mikao Usui. Sian trained with Tadao Yamaguchi, founder of the Jikiden Institute in Japan.

The course is taught over 2 days in comfortable surroundings (plenty of tea and homemade cake provided!) and includes the history and principles of Jikiden Reiki and the very important concept of detecting Byosen (the backbone of Jikiden Reiki which was lost to Western Reiki). Plenty of time is given to the understanding and practice of the techniques.
Sian gives ongoing advice and support to students with follow up meetings, Reiju sessions and hands-on practice.
