We will be closed Friday and Monday.

Pharmacies in Peebles are open Friday as they take different public holiday to us .

Our free delivery service will operate tomorrow Thursday and will operate on Tuesday as normal

Any urgent prescriptions can be collected Saturday morning as we are open as usual on Saturday.

Hi folks

West Linton Pharmacy Delivery Service

We are making some changes ( initially as a trial ) to see if we can streamline the delivery service over the next couple of months.

From next Monday we will have no formal delivery service on a Monday.
Instead we will have longer delivery hours Tuesday and Friday.

So acute scripts received Monday will be delivered Tuesday.
Urgent scripts can of course still be collected by patients and/or representatives.
Any exceptions or housebound patients can contact us by phone to see what we can do delivery wise but not guaranteed . We would hope not to see anyone stuck for medicines.

Other pipeline changes include electronic scanning of deliveries to reduce paper and improved delivery records etc.

***If you are currently having medicines delivered and don’t need the service, please get in touch to change to collection***

All of these carry costs that the NHS does not fund, yet patients rely on, so making the best use of the limited resource we can devote to the service is paramount.

There may be other changes and if so will let you know moving forward.

To help us, perhaps fellow householders could order prescriptions at the same time to help reduce the number of journeys.

Our free delivery service won’t be operating tomorrow 31st of December and will return on January 5th .

Any prescriptions not delivered today and required before the 5th will need to be collected.

We would like to wish all our customers a peaceful healthy 2026 when it comes .

I have managed to source a small number of for vaccines for private patients .

£25 each by appointment only

I wish I had enough for everyone that tried to book in the last couple of weeks when none were available to order.
Having written hundreds of vaccines off at our own over last few years , predicting volumes is really difficult .

For the avoidance of doubt.
Contrary to recent pronouncements in another country , there is no link between Autism and Paracetamol( tylenol) .

The scientific evidence behind this is as robust as any one might read .

Paracetamol when used appropriately is safe .

Read the instructions on packaging and on labels .

The “Don’t believe the experts “ mentality of some with high media profilea and in positions of influence is not only dangerous but needs called out by every individual.

Sadly medicines can have side effects , but the licensing process in UK and Europe , is robust enough to ensure these can be managed and predicted in the vast majority of cases.

Please do not stop taking prescribed medicines unless you have discussed with a qualified person .

Next Monday is our bank holiday ( in line with NHS Lothian who cover out of hours for West Linton)

Peebles pharmacies are open as normal
We will be open as normal on Tuesday the 16th

Issue not just our premises but wider West Linton issue

School holidays imminent .
If your young person has any medication in the school that they might need, please collect before the summer .

These are often inhalers , allergic emergency pens etc so always useful around home as well.

Also means they won’t be expired before start of term in August

Have a lovely break when it comes and thanks to all those involved in schools for their hard work throughout the school year

We are open as normal on Monday 26th of May.
The public holiday elsewhere in the UK will however affect our supplier deliveries, which should return to normal as the week goes on .
