Do you suffer with your sleep?
One of the most common pieces of feedback I receive following soundbaths with me is that my lovely clients have had a great night's sleep afterwards!
There are many reasons a soundbath can help you gain a better night's sleep, but here are just 3 to give you a bit more information as to how I can help if sleep is an issue for you.
1. Gently slowing the mind
Soundbaths use long, flowing sounds like gongs and singing bowls. These steady tones help the brain move out of busy, problem-solving mode and into a calmer, more dreamy state, the place we naturally drop into just before sleep.
When the mind slows like this, falling asleep feels easier and sleep itself often feels deeper.
2. Helping the body feel safe enough to rest
For sleep to happen, the body needs to feel safe. Soundbaths support this by calming the nervous system and easing us out of “fight or flight” and into “rest and digest.”
Breathing softens, the heart rate slows, muscles begin to let go and the body gets the message that it’s okay to rest.
3. Quietening the mental chatter
So many sleep problems come from a busy mind. Sound gives the mind something gentle to rest on, without needing to think or analyse.
Unlike silence, which can make your thoughts louder, sound softly fills the space and helps break cycles of worry, planning and overthinking, making it much easier to drift off.
