Yesterday I was chatting to my wonderful business coach and we were discussing how as wellness business owners we don’t always support ourselves as much as we should do.

We also talked about how sometimes our future desires and goals can become blurred because we can’t yet physically see or touch them.

If present life is tough, we often forget how important it is to keep moving forward towards the future life that we want because it doesn’t seem tangible.

I’ll be honest. That has been me recently. My present self has not been seeing my future one quite as easily as I normally would do and it’s been unsettling.

But what I have made sure I’ve been doing to keep my mind focused, is going to yoga classes, walking outside, sleeping well and eating foods that make my body feel nourished and well looked after.

It’s important to remember that we need to keep our foundations strong in order to keep building something stronger and resilient on top of them. We can apply this principle to so many areas within our life.

Do any of you feel the same way? Or is it just me! The recent moon has been a bit of an energy changer too, just to top it all off! 🌖

Here’s my take on it:

If you’re someone who works out regularly - think yoga, Pilates, gym sessions, or walking lots of steps - then training without food is not the go-to move you think it is.

Why?
Because fasted workouts might burn a few extra calories upfront, but they often lead to:
🚨More hunger later
🚨Lower overall energy
🚨A drop in performance
🚨Wobbly hormones
And for us women over 40? That’s a hard pass.

The research is clear. Fed women perform better, recover faster and feel stronger.
And your mat deserves that energy

Sunrise yoga will soon be

Thursday mornings 6.45-7.30am

We’ll start our day saluting the sun and leaving behind anything that doesn’t benefit us.

Using this time to understand more of what your body needs and how it wants to move. No judgement on yourself.

All too often we begin our day in a fast paced way without allowing our body and mind to wake up fully.

We ask a lot of ourselves on a daily basis with often unrealistic expectations. Perhaps we need to change that mindset and notice the difference in how it makes us feel when we take the pressure off.

Move with self compassion and calm, easing yourself into the day 🌅

Your mind needs care too, you know.

Meditation isn’t just “nice” — it’s necessary.

Think of it like strength training for your brain. And breathwork? That’s the bit that helps clear out the emotional cobwebs and keeps your nervous system steady when life gets loud.

🧠 “But I don’t have time…”
“It’s so boring…”

Yep, I hear you — but honestly? That uncertainty is the work you need to do. Sitting in silence can often be harder than movement.

Even 5 quiet minutes a day can shift everything: more clarity, more patience, more space between you and the overwhelm.

Start small. Keep showing up. Let it work its magic. The magic has definitely helped me over recent months.

You don’t need to do it perfectly. You just need to begin. Start where you are now.

Juggling a Masters, a broken toe, a divorce and a digital course? Same.

😵‍💫Plate-spinning in perimenopause isn’t for the faint hearted.

Ever felt like your life is a full-blown circus act…..but you’re also the ringmaster, the acrobat and the woman sweeping up after all the animals?

Let’s have a little heart-to-heart about fuelling your body properly in perimenopause 😊

You know what’s WILD? So many women in this stage skip food before a workout thinking it helps weight loss. It’s a myth!

Exercising fasted spikes cortisol and forces your body to break down muscle for energy. Not ideal 😕

Less muscle = slower metabolism = not what we want 😬

Our body can’t run on an empty battery. If you’re moving in perimenopause (gold star for that, btw), your system needs fuel, not fasting 🔥

Your body has no energy so feels exhausted the next day and so sore. I doubt you’re seeing the results you want either 😕

It may take a little playing around to discover the best fuel for you in the morning, but honestly, this slight change and tweak in your life will make such a huge difference. Oh and don’t forget to add some protein within 30 minutes of finishing your workout.

Protein ideas: Greek yoghurt with berries, protein shake, seeds. It really does help 🍓🫐

Your boost in energy, faster recovery is worth its weight in gold 💪

I want to help you feel better in your own body. To restore any areas of weakness or dysfunction. To rebalance your body using my own unique Purebody Method and then strengthen you from head to toe.

To reduce aches and pains and make you feel stronger, fitter and more able to do the things that you love. I am a nurse and women’s health coach too and work on a 121 basis with many people to provide a bespoke and tailored to you programme.

I teach mat Pilates classes and Barre classes in Surrey and also 121 Yoga, reformer pilates and classical Pilates. My classes are friendly and small in size to give you the best experience and individual attention. I work with all levels of ability and fitness.
