From as early as I can remember, I had questions about life, energy, and where we truly come from. As a child, I tried Sunday School, Brownies, different churches, and even new faiths, but I never found the answers I was seeking.
My attention was always on wellbeing. At age 10, I was already cutting out pictures of healthy, radiant people from magazines and creating scrapbooks of their tips. Something inside me knew there was more to life, a sense of balance, energy, and wholeness.
In my mid-twenties, I discovered Buddhism. Meditation and community gave me a glimpse of peace, like removing a pair of shoes that had been too tight for too long. But life shifted when my mum passed away in 2001, at just 50 years old. I spiralled into grief, anger, and loss.
Around that time, friends who were training in Reiki offered me a session. What I experienced was life-changing. My body released its heaviness, colours appeared before me, and for the first time in months, I felt ease and peace. In that stillness, I felt my mum with me, her warmth, her presence, her love.
That session was an awakening. A remembering. A knowing that Reiki was always within me.
Over the years, I continued exploring spirituality, from silent retreats to meditation communities, and returned to Reiki again in 2008. In 2017, I began my training with Carolina, and in 2018 I became a Reiki Master.
Since then, Reiki has not been just something I practice, it is the way I live. Every day, I give myself Reiki, read the Reiki precepts in Japanese, and care for myself through barefoot walking, nourishing food, meditation, breathwork, and presence. I listen deeply, stay grounded, and honour the flow of energy in all I do.
💫 My Reiki journey is about awakening, peace, and remembering who I truly am. It is my honour to share this with others, creating a safe, nurturing space where you too can release, reconnect, and return to your own inner balance.
