We asked children if they found the activities in our our one-day emotional wellbeing workshop helpful—and here’s what they told us:
💬 “I learned new ways to calm down when I feel upset, worried, scared or angry.”
💬 “I feel more confident handling my emotions.”
💬 “I enjoyed the activities and found them useful.”
💬 “I now have tools to help me in school or at home.”
💬 “I liked talking with others and sharing my thoughts.”

𝗔𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝘄𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲—𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴.

By working directly with schools, we help whole classes build emotional awareness, understand how their bodies respond to feelings, and learn how to manage those responses.

Between re-establishing routines, preparing packed lunches, organising after-school clubs, and juggling homework, it can feel like your brain has too many tabs open.

If you’re feeling stretched, frazzled, or a little emotional—that’s completely normal. Just a gentle reminder: 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘶𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘰𝘸, 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯. That’s why making space for your own wellbeing—even just a few quiet moments—isn’t selfish, it’s essential. ⏰💆‍♀️

𝙵𝚒𝚛𝚜𝚝 𝚍𝚊𝚢 𝚋𝚊𝚌𝚔 𝚗𝚎𝚛𝚟𝚎𝚜? 𝚈𝚘𝚞’𝚛𝚎 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚊𝚕𝚘𝚗𝚎.

After weeks of summer freedom, heading back to school can stir up a mix of excitement 𝘢𝘯𝘥 anxiety—new routines, new teachers, sometimes even a brand new school. That’s a lot for little minds to process.

If your child is feeling wobbly, try this simple tip: ✨ Give them something to look forward to 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 the school day ends. A trip to the playground, an ice cream stop, or a cosy movie night can help them feel safe and supported through the nerves.

🛌 Talk about your after-school plans 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 so they go to bed with something positive in mind.

💬 And if you’d like to understand more about how anxiety shows up in the body, we’ve created a free child-friendly resource just for you: 👉 theparachuteproject.co.uk/fight-flight-freeze

That’s where the ℍ𝕦𝕘 𝔹𝕦𝕥𝕥𝕠𝕟 comes in: a simple but powerful gesture of connection and comfort. 💜

✋ Draw a heart on your hand and your child’s hand. Explain that this heart is their special button—whenever they feel anxious or need a little extra love, they can press the heart and imagine your comfort reaching them.

✨ ‘Charge’ the button by holding hands during your walk to school, or anytime you're together.

You can even customise your Hug Button—add a secret handshake, a calming phrase, or a silly sound. The magic lies in the shared understanding between you and your child.

💛 Little rituals like this can make a big difference.

Whether they’re starting a new class or moving up to Secondary, feelings of worry and self-doubt are completely normal. But when those thoughts spiral, it can feel overwhelming.

Help your child gently challenge those thoughts by asking questions like:
🐜 What evidence do I have for this thought?
🐜 Is this thought actually helpful?
🐜 Is it a fact or just an opinion?
🐜 What advice would I give a friend in the same situation?
🐜 Could I look at this a different way?
🐜 What would someone else say?

These are the same tools we use in our 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 for children in Years 5–7—helping them shift negative patterns and build confidence.
