Marginal Changes 2.0 has been announced subject to consultation and could take effect from April 2026.

Positive steps forward to improve NHS Dentistry (subject to receiving the finer details) but contract reform is still desperately needed.

Will this steady the ship? Can we wait yet another year or more for true contract reform? Let us know your thoughts!

You may recognise some of our local LDC team in this latest BDA photo!

West Sussex LDC were the recent hosts of the National LDC conference earlier this month in Brighton chaired by our fabulous and amazing Agi Tarnowski.

The conference was a huge success debating what the profession wants and needs to see change guiding the GDPC and BDA in their negations with the new government come July.

We heard from some amazing speakers from across the country and devolved nations, learning from recent progress and challenges. It’s fair to say every one is keen for NHS dentistry to be revived from the crisis. We just need the new government to act!

Our team put forward three motions for the GDPC and BDA to work on this year, all of which were accepted and even scoring the highest! You can read more about these on our website and in our forthcoming coming posts.

We are also super proud of Dr Mary Green who won the unsung hero award for her tireless commitment to NHS dentistry, BDA and LDC representation, and Dentaid Voluntary work.

NHS dental fees are set to rise again on the 24th April 2023 by almost double the % increase seen in contract uplift , this means simply the government are spending less whilst patients pay more!

⚠️NHS dental charges are set to rise by 8.5%.

This hike won’t put a penny into a struggling service.

This cold, calculated political choice will hit millions on modest incomes.

Our patients shouldn’t have to pay more just so ministers can lay less.
