One of the things I love to do is to introduce people to meditation. It may be easy for a dedicated Zennie to sit for ages and enjoy the experience, but many people find it very uncomfortable to be inside their own head with no distractions.
I don’t see this as any kind of failing, it’s not a competition, we are all where we are and that’s fine.
Yesterday was a yoga day. A day of joining with others and sharing physical practice, but after all the buzz of lunch and laughter we came upstairs to sit quietly…just for 20mins. It may well have been the first time some of those people had ever meditated. It was informal, no pressure, no rules, just sit. Calm the body, calm the mind. It’s my hope that this gentle positive experience of meditation will encourage them to explore it further, whether at home or with my Zen group at YogaFeeling Either way it’s a privilege to bring meditation into people’s lives.

MUCH excitement in the house this weekend as we have a new resident…I may be slightly smitten with the kitten! Name tbc.

An early start and a fab morning full of private lessons, a busy weekend of classes in general…now it’s time to relax. I’m utterly grateful to have such amazing students 😊

So much to look forward to in February. We have the start of our second teacher training, with some utterly brilliant trainees AND we have a fantastic WEEKEND RETREAT to look forward to at the end of the month!

A big day at the studio today. We were blessed to have Roshi, Steph and Tony from Stonewater Zen come to perform the Eye Opening Ceremony for our little sangha. AND Tim was blessed with a purple Rakusu from Roshi to signify his new status as Dharma Holder. An utterly special and wonderful afternoon.
