Tammy Waine Counselling

Tammy Waine Counselling Hi, I am Tammy and I am a Person-centred therapist specialising in all forms of loss. It is this area of work that I have a passion for.

As well as my own private practice, I am a volunteer for Cruse Bereavement services and have been working with clients around grief since January 2021. I also undertook a voluntary placement with Broadway Counselling working with clients around relationship issues, depression and anxiety. I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) registered person-centred therapist and ca

n offer telephone, online or face to face sessions, including walk and talk therapy. Our time together will be confidential, non judgemental and I will provide a safe environment to allow you the space to explore and address your worries and help you achieve your chosen goals. Outside of counselling I have an elite sports background and understand how loss can impact your everyday life and negatively affect your mental health. Injury, retirement, rejection, identity and bereavement are particular areas of interest but I also work with clients around relationship issues, low self esteem and low confidence.

I listened to a brilliant podcast with Brene Brown and Dr Pippa Grange, titled Fear Less. Its talks about the fact that many of us fear failure to the extent that we can struggle to even try in the first place. Dr Pippa Grange says that failure is a valuable lesson as it allows us to learn we we are not yet ready of skilled enough! So don's be afraid of blips and failures, learn from them.

2 Years ago I completed my Cruse bereavement training and have been volunteering with them ever since. If you've lost a loved one, or are grieving over another loss in your life, message me and we can talk about the support I can offer you.

Kubler-Ross's 5 stages of grief (Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance) are not only relevant to losing a loved one, but could apply to other forms of loss - loss of physical ability through injury, loss of identity through things such as retirement, loss through the breakdown of a relationship. Get in touch if you need support.

There are many benefits to doing walking therapy outdoors in nature, from increased wellbeing, lowered anxiety, depression and stress levels, to reduced anger and increased confidence and boosted self-esteem. It has also been shown to be effective for loss and bereavement, and when going through crisis or transitions. I offer walking therapy in and around the Findon area, so message me if that may be what you are looking for.

Recovering from an injury can mentally be very challenging. Will it recover? will I be the same afterwards? Will I reach the same levels again? If those sound like thoughts you are battling, reach out and see how therapy can support you through this difficult time.

Happy New Year! Lets hope this year is a better year for everyone. If you are considering contacting a therapist to help you navigate through some choppy waters, please reach out. I offer a free consultation so that we can talk about what you need support with and how I can help. I also offer walking therapy for those that prefer talking in the fresh air.

A new year year for some may mean setting new years resolutions to lose weight, or get fitter to improve their physical health. However, other people may want support with improving their mental health. If you want to chat about the support I can offer you, please get in touch.
