We have just sent patients a series of 3 text messages regarding the Voice Connect service that will be added to our telephone system soon.

Patients who use the NHS App have received these messages via the app and have been notified that there are 3 'messages from your doctor'. This has understandably caused some confusion. Unfortunately, the fact they were received by patients via the NHS App and titled this way is not something we have control over and we apologise for the confusion.

Please find below the questions that our receptionists are being asked most frequently along with their answers:

Question 1: My NHS App says I have 3 'messages from the doctor' and I can't access them. What do I do?

Answer 1: As there are a lot of patients trying to access their NHS App at the same, it is working slower than usual. Please wait a few hours until the main rush has calmed down and open them then. Alternatively, all the information included in the messages can be found on our page or our website.

Question 2: There's a link on one of the messages. Are these text messages a scam?

Answer 2: No, they are official texts from the practice. The link directs you to our page. If you do not feel comfortable clicking it, you do not have to. We understand that there are lots of messaging scams these days and are grateful that you are being cautious.

Question 3: Will I still be able to speak to receptionist once Voice Connect is in place?

Answer 3: Yes. There will always be a member of our reception team available for you to speak to.

Question 4: Do I have to use Voice Connect to order repeat prescriptions from now on?

Answer 4: No. All the ways you normally request repeat prescriptions are still available to be used if you do not wish to order via Voice Connect.

🏡 Going Home from Hospital: What You Need to Know

Research shows that once you’ve had the care you need in hospital, going home can help you recover faster.

If extra support is needed, we’ll arrange help at home or nearby to keep you on track.

To get ready for going home, don’t hesitate to ask your healthcare team these important questions:
• What is wrong with me?
• What will happen next?
• What can I do to help myself get better?
• When am I likely to go home?

By working with your doctors and nurses, you can help speed up your recovery and feel more confident about leaving hospital.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

By the end of the month, our telephone system will have an automated service option called Voice Connect.

With this service, patients will be able to:
- Book GP appointments
- Check the time and date of appointments
- Cancel appointments
- Order repeat medication (the first time this is done, patients will be asked to create their own pin which must be kept safe)

Demos of what patients can expect to hear are available below.

PLEASE NOTE: Patients will still be able to speak to a member of our reception team if they wish to.

This service will improve accessibility and save our patients' time as those who choose to use the automated service, will not have to wait in our telephone queue.

PLEASE NOTE: Our reception team still aren't able to take prescription requests over the phone. Please use the new automated service or put your request in writing via letter or email.
