It was a fantastic atmosphere in the Garden Room when Shanty Man Ben came to visit! 🎶⚓ Residents were treated to an entertaining and informative session, filled with lively sea shanties and fascinating stories about their history and seafaring through the ages. A truly memorable experience for all!

Last week brought a truly special moment for Resident Bob when David Shepherd came to perform. A talented guitarist himself, Bob was watching closely from the audience, something David quickly noticed! In a wonderful surprise, he invited Bob to join him, proving that his skill and passion for music are very much still there… a real golden moment ✨🎸

Yesterday we got into the sea-faring spirit by making themed hats ahead of our Sea Shanty singer’s visit this Thursday ⚓🎶

Last time he visited, he said no home had ever made so much effort to dress the part… so of course we had to rise to the occasion again! 💪✨

From pirates to squids to crabs 🏴‍☠️🦑🦀 there were plenty of laughs along the way and George fully embraced every look!

What a fantastic Crafty Easter Party we had on Friday! 🎨🐣✨

Residents and their families came together for an afternoon full of creativity and joy, taking part in everything from vase painting and bookmark making to wreath creation and woodcraft 🖌️🌸🌿

It was a truly special multi-generational event, filled with laughter, great company, soft drinks, and a little tipple of prosecco and beer for the adults 🥂🍻

We rounded off the afternoon by wishing Janet a very happy birthday 🎂🎉 and hosting a raffle in support of the Kent Wildlife Rescue Service 🐾💚

We’re so proud to share that we raised an amazing £143.10 for the charity, thank you to everyone who took part and made the day so memorable! 🙌💛

🍴✨ Cookery Club has been an absolute hit over the past couple of weeks! ✨🍴

To celebrate National Something on a Stick Day (yes… it’s a real thing! 😂), our residents had great fun creating classic 70’s-style cheese & pineapple hedgehogs 🧀🍍bringing back lots of wonderful memories and plenty of smiles!

In the lead up to Easter, we also got creative making delicious lemon meringue biscuits 🍋🍪, beautifully decorated and almost too pretty to eat… almost! 🐣🌸

Cookery Club is such a fantastic way for our residents to come together socially, reminisce, and take part in meaningful activities that support dexterity, coordination, and cognitive wellbeing 💛

We hope everyone had a lovely Easter! 🐰🌼

Vanessa truly went the extra mile this year, hopping into action as our very own Easter Bunny 🐰💛 and delivering delicious Easter eggs to everyone! 🍫✨

We’ve got some VERY exciting new arrivals at St Michael’s 🐾💛

To complement our much-loved therapy donkey Banks 🫏 (who is still stealing hearts daily!), we are now welcoming some equally enormous and even fluffier friends…

The beautiful Newfoundland dogs from the Beach Buddies club 🐶🌊

These gentle giants have already been a huge hit with our dog-loving residents 🥹🐕‍🦺 lots of cuddles, smiles, and wagging tails all around!

We truly know just how powerful animal therapy can be 💫 it brings comfort, joy, and so many special moments 💕

Safe to say… we are officially spoiled with the BEST visitors 🐾
