It's time to play another round of hide and seek. Welcome to the very first lonely bouquet of August-waiting to be found.
This bouquet is yours to keep or to pass on to someone who could use a little kindness or a smile today. 💐
On this bright and breezy day, the sea is calm, the sky is kind, and a little act of kindness is blooming quietly by the shore.
Somewhere in beautiful Westgate-on-Sea this beautiful bouquet has been left with care by our Funeral Director Lorraine
🌞 and thoughtfully created and donated by the lovely Emma and team at Emma Campbell Florist at 7a Station Road Westgate on sea.

At Maskell and Uden funeral directors Westgate on Sea, we believe every goodbye should be as unique as the life it honours. Last week, we had the privilege of helping a family say farewell to their loved one, a true Micky Mouse fan, with an unforgettable personalised coffin featuring his idol.

From the moment it arrived, it brought smiles, memories and a sense of joy - a perfect reflection of the young man we were there to celebrate.

We are so proud that this family trusted us to create a meaningful, memorable goodbye to their loved one. Because every life is unique - every farewell should be too. 💙

As International Lonely Bouquet Day approaches, Maskell and Uden Funeral Directors have partnered with Foxgloves of Birchington and Emma Campbell to share beauty where it is least expected, but perhaps most needed.
In quiet corners across our community, you may find a bouquet on park benches, resting at café corners, leaning softly against bookstore doors.
Quiet bundles of colour and kindness; left not for someone we know, but for someone who may truly need it.
These “lonely bouquets” are not truly lonely—they carry love, remembrance, and hope.
Left for strangers, they speak without words: You are not forgotten.

Here at Maskell and Uden Funeral Directors, we feel incredibly fortunate to have the support of not just one, but two wonderful local florists who are kindly backing our Lonely Bouquet Campaign.

Their generosity brings comfort and connection to those who need it most, and we're truly grateful for their involvement.

Today’s stunning bouquet has been generously donated by Sophie at Foxgloves of Birchington.
We’re so thankful for her continued support—not only for our Lonely Bouquet Campaign, where her flowers bring unexpected joy to those feeling isolated, but also for the care and compassion she brings to our funeral services. On Sunday, 15th June, all of your heartfelt letters, memory tags, and messages were hand-delivered by our Funeral Director Lorraine to the 'Letters to Loved ones' post box at Herne Bay Crematorium.

It was a beautiful sunny day, and each note was sent with love. Our thoughts were with every one of you, and with all those who are missing someone special on Father's Day. 💙

With a little help from Emma Campbell Florist it has been left in a peaceful seaside spot in Westgate on Sea.

I once danced with the breeze, kissed by the sun,
But now I wait with petals undone.
Left on a bench, by the waves that sing,
Where am I lost in the soft sea spring?

We warmly invite you to share a message, memory or note on one of our special tags to hang on our in branch memorial tree.

This can be a meaningful way to honor your father, grandfather or someone special who holds a cherished place in your heart.

These tags can be found in Maskell and Uden Westgate on sea and in Ramsgate. But if you don't feel able to come to us they can also be found at the following stations:-

- The Library Westgate.
- Swans public house
- The Galleria
- Press
- Westgate Doctors surgery.

Just take a tag when you visit and post through our door. We will collect the tags from our tree on Father's day and post them into the dedicated 'Letters to loved ones' post box at Herne Bay Crematorium.
