2 day Paediatric First Aid Course running on the 6th September and 8th of September.

REAL LIFE
The importance of carrying a first aid kit in your car. I was in Bristol last week coming out of an event at 1030pm. As I headed to the car two lads on e scooters sailed past having fun. As I got to the car I saw one of them on the floor. I grabbed my first aid kit and ran over. There was no bleeding, he had a lump the size of a tennis ball on his head. He was unconscious but still breathing. Luckily there were 2 nurses there as well as some members of the public. They needed a cold pack so I handed them a few I had in my kit. I asked one member of public to do traffic control, 2 others were on the phone to the ambulance and the nurses were looking after the casualty. First Aid is about managing situations as well as administering life saving help. If you want to be more prepared for the unexpected, please get in touch. The 1 day course covers all the basics. I had a wonderful time a couple of weeks ago teaching some of the staff at Priory School. Lots of laughs and learning. Tailored the course to cover more on choking to suit their needs.

Had a great couple of days this weekend teaching the Outdoor First Aid Course. Lovely small group which meant they could share previous experiences. First Aid situations are never the same so I learnt a lot from them too. It’s a serious and important subject but we also had fun and some good laughs which is all part of the learning experience.
Thank you to them all for a good weekend 😊
