My love of family history began as a child when my Grandad gave me a family tree. I was always mesmerised by the family stories he would tell me. When my children were younger and I had evenings to myself, I expanded on my Grandad’s tree and became obsessed. It wasn’t long before I’d worked on all my other lines and realised this was something I wasn’t just passionate about but I was pretty good at too! I took it to the next level and took a DNA test to confirm my paper trail which opened up a whole new side to genealogy then shortly after, I went on to complete an online course with the University of Strathclyde. Over the last few years, I’ve solved mysteries within my own family lines and those of others, helped friends reconnect with long lost relatives and helped adoptees find their biological roots.
