I hope that you are all well and staying safe in this time of uncertainty.
At present with the escalation of the Covid-19 health emergency, we thought it would be best to reach out and share with you the safety measures we have put in place up to date. As a small family run business (alongside our dedicated staff), the health and safety of all people including our staff is of utmost importance to us in being able to remain a functioning business. We realise that there are many people who rely on us as a business and it is our aim to continue to function as normal as possible, until government guidance tells us otherwise whilst continuing to take precautions to keep up our already high level of hygiene. The measures we are taking are guided by our trading association, SAIF alongside daily updates from the government.
Currently we request and encourage that anyone visiting the premises of Abbey Funeral Services use hand sanitiser and to only come into the office if your needs cannot be met by one of helpful staff over the telephone. If you have any worries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us, however we are following the ever changing guidance of the government on a day to day basis. If it helps, donations can be made online via our website, and also were possible you will be able to donate on the day of the funeral. Funeral dates and time can be confirmed via a phone call or on our website.
In the weeks to come, due to the uncertainty of the precautions that may be brought into place, we would like to offer the option of arranging a funeral from home by telephone call or Skype, however we will be remaining open until told otherwise so if you wish to come in to make an arrangement we are happy to accommodate, but we do request that a maximum number of two people are to attend, preferably with a scheduled appointment. Some of our staff have family members as do many people who are vulnerable and would suffer from the contraction of the Covid-19 virus, so we are trying to minimise the risk of possible transmission by keeping social gatherings to a minimum. When calling to make an appointment a member of our staff may ask some details from you regarding yourself and your loved ones ahead of your appointment.
At present we are continuing to arrange and conduct our funerals as normal unless a loved one has passed away due to the virus. In the near future we will be taking each day as it comes paying attention to the updates from the Government, Crematoria, Clergy and others who may make changes which may disrupt or halt the operation of our funerals. In this case we will contact families to give an update on how we will proceed. We will as ever, do the very best for our families during this difficult time and continue to support those who need it during an every growing time of difficulty, putting the wellbeing of our clients, staff and families at the forefront of our practice.
Thank you for understanding at this difficult time
