Spotlight on Gong Baths: What They Are and Why They Matter

A gong bath is not a bath in the usual sense – there’s no water involved. Instead, it’s an immersive sound experience where the deep, resonant tones of gongs wash over you, creating waves of vibration that reach both body and mind.

During a session, you simply lie down, close your eyes, and allow the sound to carry you. The vibrations move through the body at a cellular level, helping to release tension, quieten the busy mind, and invite a state of deep rest. Many people describe it as a journey inward, where time seems to dissolve and the nervous system finally lets go.

Our sound baths go to the next level and you are cocooned in a silk hammock hanging low to the floor if desired.

Why Gong Baths?

In our modern world, stress and overstimulation are constant companions. Gong baths provide a rare chance to reset. Here’s why they’re so powerful:

• Deep relaxation – the vibrations help the body drop into parasympathetic “rest and digest” mode.

• Emotional release – sound bypasses the thinking mind, allowing unprocessed feelings to soften and move.

• Meditative state – even if you struggle with traditional meditation, the gong can gently guide you into stillness.

• Restored energy – people often leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more balanced.

Who Is It For?

Gong baths are suitable for anyone seeking a pause, whether you’re carrying stress, looking for emotional release, or simply curious about sound as a healing tool. You don’t need any experience in yoga or meditation – just an openness to rest and receive.

Did you know we do corporate work? Lots of teachers and style to chose from. If you want your office to host yoga or mediation sessions get in touch

Happy Friday! ☀️

Shoutout to our yoga guru Sacred Space Yoga, who visits the office every Wednesday morning to host a session for the Ascot Group team.

These sessions are a real benefit for everyone who takes part. They help wake us up, relax our minds, and de-stress before the busy day ahead. 🪷

A huge thank you to Kerrina – we’d be lost without her support each week! 🌟

🌿 Restorative Yoga – What Is It and Why? 🌿

In a world that seems to get faster every day, where notifications, emails and responsibilities never stop, it can feel almost radical to pause. Restorative Yoga offers us exactly that — a chance to slow down, soften and nurture ourselves in a way that is deeply needed.

But restorative yoga isn’t just about lying still. It’s about creating the conditions for rest, healing and reconnection. With the support of props, the body can truly let go, and the nervous system has time to shift out of “doing mode” and into deep rest. From there, the mind quiets, the breath softens and the body remembers its natural rhythm.

As Judith Hanson Lassiter, one of the forerunners in this practice, reminds us: “Go slowly, enjoy yourself. Slowing down is the same thing as waking up.”

✨ Why practice restorative yoga?
• To release stress and tension stored in the body
• To soothe the nervous system and support better sleep
• To nurture yourself on every level — physical, emotional and mental
• To reconnect with yourself and remember what it feels like to be, rather than constantly do

If you’ve been feeling tired, overstretched or just craving more space for you, this practice is for you. My hope is that you give yourself permission to try it, to go slowly, and to experience the gift of rest.

Slow Down & Find Stillness – Yin Yoga at 5:30 PM every Friday

Yin yoga is a deeply nourishing practice designed to help you slow down, release tension, and find space in both body and mind. Unlike more dynamic styles of yoga, Yin focuses on long-held, passive poses that target the deeper connective tissues—ligaments, fascia, and joints—allowing for greater flexibility, improved circulation, and a profound sense of relaxation.

Who is Yin for?
• Anyone looking to balance a busy, active lifestyle
• Those wanting to improve flexibility and mobility
• People experiencing stress or overwhelm
• Athletes and yogis seeking deep tissue release
• Anyone who simply wants to feel better in their body

Benefits of Yin:

Increases flexibility and joint mobility
Encourages relaxation and stress relief
Supports emotional balance
Improves circulation and energy flow
Helps calm the nervous system

Join me Fridays at 5:30 PM for this soothing, meditative practice. Whether you’re new to Yin or a regular, this is your time to pause, breathe, and reconnect. See you on the mat!

🌿 Spotlight on Aerial Yoga 🌿

Ever wondered what Aerial Yoga actually is?

At Sacred Space Yoga, we use a soft hammock or silk, suspended from the ceiling, as a supportive prop to help you explore movement in new ways.

It’s not just about flips and tricks (though those can be fun!) — aerial yoga is a practice that can bring huge benefits:

✨ Support & Space – the hammock helps you release tension and access deeper stretches with less strain on your joints.

✨ Strength & Stability – working with the silk engages muscles you didn’t know you had, building strength in a playful way.

✨ Freedom & Flow – you can experience movements that feel weightless, bringing a sense of lightness and joy to your practice.

✨ Rest & Restore – cocooning in the hammock at the end of class is like being wrapped in a soft cloud, deeply calming for the nervous system.

Aerial Yoga is for everyone. Whether you’re curious to try something new, want to strengthen your body, or simply long for a different way to relax, the hammock will meet you where you are.

📍 Join us at Sacred Space Yoga Studio in Weston-super-Mare on Thursdays at 6:30pm and discover the magic of Aerial Yoga for yourself.

✨ Introducing Grounded Aerial at Sacred Space Yoga ✨

You’ve probably seen Aerial Yoga and thought it was all flips and flying… but what if the hammock could also bring you back down to earth?

Our brand new Grounded Aerial class does just that. Using the aerial hammock and silk as supportive props, we’ll explore how they can:
🌿 Help you go deeper into poses with gentle support
🌿 Create space in the body without needing to invert
🌿 Offer stability so you can feel grounded, open, and safe

Think of it as a blend of the best of both worlds — the freedom of aerial, with the steadiness of a mat practice. Perfect if you’ve been curious about aerial but prefer to stay closer to the ground, or if you want to explore new ways to move and release tension.

🧘‍♀️ Suitable for beginners and all levels.
📍 At Sacred Space Yoga Studio, Weston-super-Mare.

Come and experience the hammock as your new favourite yoga prop.
