It began the moment some lives were allowed to matter less.
That’s when the rot set in.

A Gentle Reminder About Milton Road Cemetery -

Milton Road Cemetery is a place of remembrance first and foremost. It is a working cemetery, where families come to visit loved ones and pay their respects.

We understand that many people use the cemetery as a quiet route for walking and well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. The majority of people are respectful of their surroundings, however recently we have had reports of dogs urinating on memorials and of dog fouling not being cleaned up.

This is distressing for families and is not acceptable. Milton Road Cemetery is a place that deserves care and respect.

If you walk through the cemetery with your dog, please:
• Keep dogs on a lead at all times
• Prevent dogs from fouling or weeing on graves and memorials
• Always clean up after your dog and use the bins throughout the cemetery

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

We don’t leave the dead behind when the calendar turns.
As long as we say their name, tell their stories, and let their influence shape the way we live, they walk with us still.
Carrying their legacy into 2026 isn’t clinging to the past — it’s honouring love that never ended, and allowing it to keep moving forward through us.

For those who find comfort in returning to words and memories, Weston Crematorium has an online Book of Remembrance.

Unlike the traditional books kept at the crematorium, this online version makes every page available to view on any day of the year — not just on a specific date.

It means you can read, reflect, and remember in your own time, from anywhere, whenever you feel the need to feel close to the person you love.

Remembrance doesn’t run to a timetable.
Grief doesn’t follow a calendar.
And your memories are always yours to return to 🤍

If you have any questions about accessing the online Book of Remembrance, we’re always here to help.

A friend recommended Groves and so I was happy to go to them. Claire was understanding, sympathetic and very knowledgeable and I was glad to learn that they did direct cremations. I was informed every step of the way eg. when my husband was collected from Weston General and was then with Groves, to when the cremation was going to take place and when they had his ashes back with them. Knowing what was happening at every stage was very helpful and comforting to me. Claire came to collect the urn I had chosen to hold my husband's ashes and when she returned it she even placed it exactly where I wanted it to be. I felt that she knew how important it was to me and definitely went the extra mile, and I will never forget her kindness.

Even on a Sunday evening… we’re here. 🌙💗
Doing what we do — caring for families and working alongside those who give others a second chance through organ and tissue donation. 🚑✨

Compassion doesn’t clock off. Neither do we.

The Last Goodbye 🥀
🌹 One of the most profound moments of any funeral is the last goodbye.

Too often, it’s done quietly by the funeral director behind the scenes. But it doesn’t have to be. 💐 Families can be there — settling their loved one, placing keepsakes, smoothing clothing, even closing the coffin lid themselves.

For some, it’s too much. But for others, it’s the final act of love, a goodbye that brings comfort and peace. 🕊️

This is your loved one. That last touch, that last look — it can be yours. ❤️

❌ You know what’s NOT okay? ❌
Not knowing where your loved one is.

💔 Families deserve honesty.
💬 “Somewhere in the area” isn’t good enough.
✨ Peace of mind comes from clear, transparent answers — knowing exactly where your loved one is resting.

🕊️ Ask the question. Expect the truth.
Because trust isn’t a slogan — it’s a responsibility.
