Broadway Lodge

Broadway Lodge Compassion infused, person centred, abstinence-based residential treatment centre for addiction. Transforming lives since 1974.

Addiction is an illness, not a choice. But the good news is that with the right support, addiction is treatable. As the UK’s most experienced abstinence-based rehabilitation centre, we understand addiction and how to treat it. We’re here to work with clients so they can live happy and fulfilling lives. We can help people who have an addiction to:

• Alcohol
• Illicit drugs
• Prescription drugs

Gambling
• Sex
• Gaming
• Co-dependency

We provide inpatient medically-managed detoxification for people with an addiction to alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines and prescribed medication. Clients who detox with us are allocated a twin en-suite room in our on-site medical unit which is staffed 24/7 by our specialist nurses. There is a gentle therapeutic programme alongside the detox. Once the detox is completed (if required), clients can immerse themselves into the full, comprehensive therapeutic programme. This is where real change starts to happen. They work with counsellors and their peers to understand their addiction and address the root cause so they can develop healthy coping mechanisms and the tools to sustain their recovery. They will also address other presenting issues and improve their emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing as well as self-worth. We can support people who have dual diagnosis where another condition co-exists alongside their addiction such as anxiety and depression. Please Note:

Reintroducing you to the 12 Steps philosophy - a guiding framework that empowers lasting recovery and lies at the heart of what we do at Broadway Lodge.

There is long-standing evidence that practicing the 12 Steps is one of the most effective means of establishing and maintaining recovery. 💙💚

However, the original wording of the 12 Steps can be quite difficult to understand, so we’ve created an easier-to-understand version here: https://www.broadwaylodge.org.uk/recovery/12-steps/

Miracle Mansion Podcast: Kelly's Clean From Ketamine & Thriving

Kelly joins Markkus, Director of Treatment & Aftercare at Broadway Lodge, on her two-year clean anniversary. After staying at Broadway Lodge in 2024 for ketamine addiction, Kelly has remained clean and sober, from ketamine, other drugs and alcohol, ever since.

In this episode, Kelly reflects on life after university in 2013, when nights out on the rave scene led to experimenting with ketamine and other drugs. What began as fun escalated, and before long she found herself crossing a line, where fun turned into a ketamine obsession, and a life without substances felt unimaginable. This came despite the painful physical health challenges she was experiencing as a result of regular ketamine use.

Kelly shares her journey through treatment at Broadway Lodge, her decision to embrace abstinence, and the work she’s done to build a fulfilling life in recovery. Today, she still enjoys raving, but now does so clean and sober. She also talks about all of the recovery activities and projects she’s involved with that continue to help her thrive.

It was a pleasure to reconnect with Kelly and hear how positive she feels in her recovery. She also discusses co-founding The K-Hold, a new ketamine-specific support group in Bristol, launched in March 2026.

A big thank you to Kelly for courageously sharing her experience of addiction and recovery so far.

Our Story

Transforming Lives Since 1974.

We know it’s not everyone’s idea of a fun trip away. But as the UK’s most experienced abstinence-based addiction treatment centre, we understand addiction and how to treat it. We’re here to work with clients so they can leave with the tools to be able to live a happy and fulfilling life.

Since 1974 our multi-disciplined team have helped to transform the lives of 15,000 people, supporting them in their recovery from addictions to alcohol, illicit and prescription drugs, gambling, s*x and gaming.

As well as treatment primarily for addiction, we can support those who have a dual diagnosis where another condition co-exists alongside their addiction such as an eating disorder, anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
