Worthy Therapy provide creative and fun counselling solutions primarily for children aged 3 and up, but suitable for all ages. We are a small business founded in 2011 by Yvonne Barker. We have a real passion to support and help individuals overcome emotional, behavioural and personal issues through play therapy and counselling. We work primarily with children, but are able to accomodate and offer

advice to individuals from all walks of life. Yvonne is an accredited PTUK (Play Therapy UK) practitioner and always ensures her work is naturally compliant with the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) ethical framework. We offer a comfortable and confidential space for individuals to engage with their emotions through creativity and/or conversation. This creates the perfect environment for a process of self healing allowing individuals to identify and come to terms with the full extent of their issues. I'm taking some time off for the next 2 weeks with my crazy lot, lots, and lots planned for them, so no rest for me, lol.

I do have 1 touch in session (a shorter session without a full kit) booked in for 1 client at the end of this week as the break was too long for them right now.
If it's needed, I will always find a way to at least offer something in the holiday's.
I have a space opening up after the break, so do reach out if you're interested.

Session cancelled for this afternoon, so I am working on a project me and the client have been working on together; we are on a deadline to finish this project so I am using my time for the client

Trying out my new milk frother from b&m. Seems to work reasonably well other than burning milk to the bottom 🤦‍♀️

Super excited for this little bit of new kit I've bought over the last few days.

Where possible and appropriate I like to tailor my kit to the child I work with and im hoping this will be perfect for one ive been seeing ❤️

Over the break I have also got some new mag warriors; i might show those off in a few days. And some play dough type stuff that doesn't dry out, that is currently only 99p a tub in Aldi

Excited to get back to sessions this week after a well needed break for family time and admin

What did you do at work today?

I bet you didnt get to have your make up done for you...

It is not something I've had done before at work and won't be a regular thing, but it was right that this client be able to do this at this time.

I will be here from 2.30 on Wednesday. Really looking forward to it. I might even drop by a bit before and have a look round too (who am I trying to kid, I will definitely drop by as its been so fantastic previous years)

Yesterday I took my daughter and a friend to watch sing along at the cinema.

My daughter has been watching it at home, and I'd obviously heard the song Golden and seen pictures of the main 3 characters, but otherwise, I knew nothing else about it.

Initially, I wasn't sure. The whole idea of demons taking souls, etc.

But by the end, I loved it; a battle to overcome inner demons, to being our shame/ guilt/ fears into the light and trust our friends and family to accept us for who we are.

The more we hide the things we see as negatives the more power they have over us.

Today is world mental health day, where they encourage everyone to wear yellow.

I still cannot wear my yellow tshirt, so I am wearing my lime green shirt as it is the closest to yellow I have.

So far today I have forgotten harvest gifts for school, put milk in my orange juice rather then my Cereal, and I forgot who was doing school pick up later..... clearly a good morning for me 🤣

Hopefully things can only get better.

I think I will try and manage some craft later, as something for me.

What can you do today for your mental health?

Looking after our mental health is as important (if not more important) as looking after our physical health. So do what you can to keep yourself well, and your children. And reach out to someone if its too tricky right now... we all have those times in life.

2 end of therapy review done today, and a lovely, unexpected thank you gift from one (not sure I've ever been given one before).

Just a little admin to do over the holiday now, but otherwise its my time with my crazy bunch.

Unexpectedly stumbled upon a Trans+ rights parade in London today.
And it clearly had an impressive turn out as it we passed it a few different times whilst walking about
