St Georges are very grateful to Reverend Chris from St Mark’s Church - Worle for conducting monthly church services in the home. From this month Reverend Chris will also carry out a monthly pastoral visit to meet with residents on a one to one; do let the team know if your loved one would benefit from one of these visits.
Connection to local churches and spiritual well-being is so important for many St Georges' residents and ensuring these connections is part of Allegra Care's Household Model. To find out how the St Georges' team could care for your loved one do visit the website https://allegracare.co.uk/stgeorges

Variety & opportunity for our residents to flourish is something that we feel passionate about here at St Georges Nursing Home.
Poetry is an activity that brings numerous benefits to residents . It encourages imaginative thinking within a calming environment while promoting motivation & creativity.
A few of our residents spent a blissful morning reading Poetry aloud with such expression and passion.
They were then encouraged to write just one word on some note cards.
Terry a 94 year old resident who has written beautiful poetry throughout his life , as-well as a book previously being published was given the word cards & encouraged to take pen to paper to create a poem using the words given…..
The poem “Blissful Hours” was created 🩵

🩵🐾 National Dog Day 🩵🐾
Residents here St Georges Nursing Home really do have a great love of all animals & today was all about the furry four legged kind 🐾
In room companionship from the lovely Poppy , a 6 year old Sh*tzu was shared throughout the home. Poppy’s calm & friendly nature making her the ideal companion for residents to snuggle up to & promote relaxation & smiles, smiles & more smiles 🩵🐾
Our bundle of fun Toby ensured he wasn’t forgotten & enjoyed a fuss & fetch with the lovely 100 year old Phyllis Which has become a regular morning routine for both Phyllis & Toby🥎🐶
And a new star to the home was 22 year old Jack Russel/Chihuahua cross Gizzy.
Gizzy made a special visit with his owner Caroline. Gizzy was re homed with Caroline in 2012 at the age of 14 he has found abandoned but microchipped in Portishead weighing less than a bag of sugar . Carolina was told he wouldn't last the year but here we are 8 years later , with no teeth but a feisty heart!!! Gizzy most definitely thinks he’s a big dog in a small dogs body & brought laughter in abundance today to the home😂🐾🐶🩵

With the weather looking a little temperamental for the rest of this week , our residents made the most of the sunshine here at St Georges Nursing Home & enjoyed lunch alfresco with friends….. with the birds chirping , the breeze blowing & the warmth of the summer sunshine it felt like a glorious way to spend a bank holiday Monday .
With our gardener Dave on holiday our residents then voted to spend some time in the Orchard picking the damsons & exploring the fruits & vegetable’s growing .
It can be hard work this eating & fruit picking so as the afternoon ticked on some enjoyed getting together for a good old chinwag over a cuppa while others chose to relax & recharge on this glorious Bank Holiday Monday here at St Georges.

Another magical vist here at St Georges Nursing Home from Tony Payne's Puppets as our residents enjoyed a afternoon of Puppetry In Motion…..
Tony and his range of puppets connects with residents in really unique, person-centered approach . The Puppets engage our residents by stimulating memories & encouraging self-expression.
The puppet show ranged from Charlie The Chimps jokes to singing traditional well known songs with 92 year old Nigel and a lot of other puppetry in between…. The visit is a firm favourite here at St Georges with young and old and a superb way to encourage those intergenerational links.
A big Well Done to Tony who also recently won UK Vent Convention & brought along his winning prize Custard who also made his grand appearance here at St Georges 💛

🥂💛🌻 Happy 73rd Wedding Anniversary Terry & Christine 🥂💛🌻
What a honour it was today to have the opportunity to celebrate the 73rd Wedding Anniversary of Terry & Christine.
Terry & Christine are two peas in a pod, full of laughter, kindness, thankfulness for every thing they have & for the many years they have shared together.
It was a trip to Clarence Park, Weston-super-Mare & the weather couldn’t have been more ideal! Strawberries & bubbles were enjoyed while in the park & new were memories made , before Terry & Christine were whisked away for a special family afternoon celebration in the garden.
Terry and Christine really do cherish what they have every day & appreciate it all a little more each year as they get to celebrate their love and happiness together on their Anniversary .
Also another example of Best Friends as we continue to look at friendships here at St Georges Nursing Home
Happy 73rd Wedding Anniversary Terry & Christine from all of us at St Georges 🥂🫶💛🌻

At St Georges Nursing Home we strive to provide the highest level of care in a comfortable and safe environment.
The home is purpose built and was completed in 2012. Accommodation is provided over two floors and is furnished to the highest standard.
Our experienced staff take pride in providing our residents with holistic care, taking into account everyone’s individuality and diversity. The combination of committed staff and our purpose built home-from-home, makes us the ideal choice for those seeking care for themselves or a loved one.
When we say home-from-home, we mean it. Our home is based around four households, each with their own kitchen/dining room. We cook together, eat together and play together, meaning that our residents can be as involved in the daily life of the home for as long as they are willing or able to.
We can offer couples either paired single rooms or a shared bedroom with an adjacent private lounge. We find this works particularly well when both partners need care and when partners wish to stay together.
