This week the researchers from the Robotics Lab at University of Bristol popped into our Memory Café and we absolutely loved having them. We got talking about how AI and robotics can change adult social care for the better and honestly the chat just went on and on, back and forth, everyone jumping in with ideas and stories. The kind of conversation where you look up and realise an hour has passed.And that is really what our Memory Café is about.

Every month we get to sit with the most wonderful people, share a cup of tea, have a laugh, and this month we got to throw in a little glimpse of the future too.

Last week, we had the pleasure of joining the Breathe Easy group at the Healthy Living Centre on Lonsdale Avenue in Weston-super-Mare for a Scam Awareness Workshop.

Breathe Easy is a wonderful support group for people living with COPD and other lung conditions, a place where people come together to share experiences, exchange ideas, and support one another through their journey.

We have loved delivering these workshops and every single session reminds us just how important these conversations are. Even one moment of clarity, one person feeling more confident and aware, makes it all worthwhile.

Today we had the pleasure of celebrating a very special milestone for our Director, Rao, who turns 50 this Sunday.
Although his birthday is officially on the weekend, we couldn’t wait and wanted to surprise him by celebrating a little early at the office. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a team and show our appreciation for everything Rao does. His leadership, dedication, and constant support mean so much to all of us. The celebration was filled with smiles, laughter, and heartfelt thanks.

We held our first Singing for the Brain session on 14 April, and what a joyful afternoon it was.
We danced, we sang and had the pleasure of meeting our wonderful attendees. It was truly heartwarming to see such an uplifting sense of community come together.
We are already looking forward to welcoming everyone again soon and continuing to build this special space together.

We are so excited to be hosting this with the Alzheimer’s Society, creating a warm and welcoming space where music brings people together. No perfect pitch needed, just a willingness to join in, connect, and enjoy the moment.

Whether you are living with dementia, supporting a loved one, or simply a family member or friend, everyone is welcome. This is a space for connection, comfort and community.

Familiar songs can lift spirits, spark memories, and remind us that no one is alone in this journey. As Irene, who lives with dementia, beautifully said, it feels like singing for the soul. A place where you can meet others, share moments, and feel like yourself again.
