Nothing is linear, everything loops.
Healing, for example, feels complete. And then a new life lesson comes in and itโs as though the wound just opened.
Grief, you grow a life around it and along comes another to drag you right back down into the fog, as your soul leaves your body trying to find theirs and you begin a new chapter of the you who lives with them inside and not out.
Even our wisdom flourishes and is temporarily forgotten sometimes, as a new relationship tries to shave off our rough edges or a change whips the rug from under our feet.
The only thing thatโs linear is time.
Our body does not age at the same pace as our soul, our heart and our mind because all of those duck, dive and swoop like a kite in a hurricane.
And I have to come to realise that when these loops occur, it is scary, of course. But we are not going backwards as it may feel.
We are still moving. And we are moving forward.
It is just that this road is not straight.
And truly, the things we have learned, the ways in which we have grown, are still under the surface, bolstering and fortifying our steps as we go.
I think of it as an infinity loop that somehow progresses as it winds around.
It can often feel we are getting nowhere in this life of ours but truly, there is no destination here.
It is not linear, this life.
It just keeps going around. And you may not see it but youโre only ever growing.
