💚Companionship Café – Tuesday 2nd June💚

We’re excited to welcome Damion to our Companionship Café TOMORROW! 🌟

He'll be joining us for an afternoon filled with singing and dancing ✨

As always, our cafés offer a relaxed, friendly setting where you can enjoy a brew, chat, and meet others in the community.

Home Instead Wetherby, North Leeds & Horsforth will be bringing Training2Care's Dementia Experience Bus to The Dementia Awareness & Support Event at Wetherby Town Hall💚

This is a once in a lifetime experience that gives you the opportunity to experience first hand what everyday tasks can be like for someone living with dementia

The Dementia Experience Bus helps people to understand the struggles that come from living with dementia, communicate more compassionately, and create supportive environments that truly meet the needs of those living with dementia

Come along and experience the Training2Care Dementia Experience Bus, a powerful, immersive way to understand what it’s like to live with dementia

Dementia Action Week 2026💚

Tuesday - Free Dementia Friend's Session
To kick off Dementia Action Week we held a free Dementia Friends Session for people in the community. This was a face to face session at our Horsforth Office for people to learn more about dementia and to become a Dementia Friend. Our Community Engagement Lead Tess ran this and everyone had a wonderful time!🧠

Tuesday - Dementia Awareness & Support Event
Our Community Engagement Lead, Heather, was at Cross Gates Shopping Centre with the LCP for an event to support people living with dementia and their loved ones. There were so many amazing organisations there and there was even a brass band!

Wednesday - Friendship & Entertainment Social
We had our monthly Friendship & Entertainment Social on Wednesday. So many people came along to spend the afternoon with us! We even celebrated one lady's birthday which made it extra special💚

Thursday - Dementia Information Stand
Heather was at Wetherby Market on Thursday with Emma and Tam from Wetherby in Support of the Elderly, The Rainbow Care Group- HQ and Carolyn, Memory Support Worker. They were there to give out information on dementia and what services are available for people in our community💚

Friday - Wetherby Community Cafe & Advice Hub
We were at The Community Café & Advice Hub on Friday to give out more information on our services available in the community. There was plenty of useful support there from other amazing local organisations, councillors and Sir Alec Shelbrooke MP

We had such an amazing week getting to speak to co many amazing people from other organisations and members of the public! If there's anything you missed that you are interested in, please comment below and we might have something similar happening soon!

Our Chairobics classes in Boston Spa and Wetherby are cancelled next week on the 26th and 28th May and on Tuesday 2nd June

They will continue the following week as usual, we're sorry for any inconvenience this causes💚

Here's a snippet from this month's Friendship & Entertainment Social with Tess in Horsforth!!

We had so many people come along to spend the afternoon with us! We even celebrated one lady's birthday which made it extra special💚
