Last Friday at Ashfield, we spent some lovely time baking with our residents 🧁🍰
It was wonderful to see how much everyone enjoyed getting involved, from mixing ingredients to sharing memories of cooking at home. Activities like this bring so many benefits — boosting confidence, encouraging conversation, and most importantly, putting smiles on faces.

One resident told us, “I’ve always loved cooking and baking, and I really enjoyed myself.”

A member of staff also shared, “It was so nice seeing the residents doing something they used to love doing before they needed more care.”

Moments like these truly remind us how meaningful simple activities can be 💙

One staff member shared how special the moment felt, saying “It’s lovely to see the residents making resolutions and thinking positively about their future.”

It was a heart-warming start to the year and a great reminder of the power of small goals and fresh beginnings. 🌟

🎄💛 A Huge Thank You to Tockwith Primary School 💛🎄

We would like to say a massive thank you to Tockwith Primary School for the beautiful Christmas cards that were so kindly sent to our residents.

The cards truly brightened everyone’s day and brought so much festive cheer into our home. Our residents loved reading the kind messages, admiring the colourful designs, and sharing them with one another. They sparked lovely conversations, happy memories, and plenty of smiles.

Our staff commented on what a lovely and thoughtful gesture it was, and how special it was to see the happiness the cards brought. One of our residents summed it up perfectly, saying how much they loved receiving a Christmas card and how it made them feel remembered ❤️

At a time of year that can feel especially quiet for some, this kindness meant more than words can say. Please pass on our heartfelt thanks to all the children and staff involved — you have truly made a difference.

🎄✨ A MASSIVE THANK YOU! ✨🎄

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to Ashfield’s Christmas Party — it was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was full of festive cheer, and most importantly, the residents truly loved every moment of it ❤️

The pantomime was fantastic, bringing so much laughter, singing, and joy. A big thank you to everyone involved in making the performance so special 🎭🎶

We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the staff who helped and volunteered, giving their time, energy, and kindness to make the day truly memorable. We couldn’t have done it without you ✨

Join us for the Ashfield Christmas Party and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon for everyone!

🕑 2:00–3:00pm – Pantomime
🕒 3:00–4:00pm – Music, Mingling & Dancing
🕓 4:00–5:00pm – Food

🎟 There will also be the opportunity to buy raffle tickets, with 3 hampers up for grabs!
Tickets are £1 per strip or 20p per single ticket.

If you can’t attend but would still like to purchase a raffle ticket, please ring the home and ask for Amy or send a direct message.

🌟 Out and About Today! 🌟

Today we took some of our residents to the Wetherby Artisan/Dickinson Market, and what a lovely time it was! 🛍️

The residents absolutely loved it — enjoying the atmosphere, browsing the stalls, and getting out and about in the community. Trips like these are so beneficial, helping to boost wellbeing, encourage social interaction, and bring joy through new experiences.

One resident said how much they love going out and about, and it was heart-warming to hear how much these outings mean to them 💛

A member of staff also shared how much they love it when staff from all departments come together to help take residents out, making these special moments possible.❤️

🌟 A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO Kirsty Higgins Vocalist 🌟

We had an absolutely amazing time at Ashfield today with Kirsty’s fantastic ABBA tribute! Our residents were smiling from ear to ear — they absolutely loved every moment. One resident even said, “I just love ABBA music!” 💛🎶

It was just as lovely to see our staff getting involved too. As one staff member said, “I love seeing the residents having so much fun.” Moments like these truly warm the heart.

Kirsty, your performance didn’t just entertain — it brightened the whole home. You lifted spirits, sparked memories, and brought everyone together in the most joyful way. We can’t thank you enough for giving our residents such a special day. 💃✨
