Tension in your neck and shoulder? we are a leading Surrey clinic in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries using shockwave therapy.

Patients often come to see osteopaths due to a ‘cricked neck’. Most of us are familiar with sleeping awkwardly or tweaking our neck but have you ever wondered what causes this? 💥

There can be several reasons such as facet locks, muscle spasms or disc herniations.

The most common cause of a ‘facet lock’ is due the highly pain sensitive joint capsule becoming caught or pinched causing the restriction & muscle spasm.

Osteopaths can diagnose and treat restricted and painful necks with joint manipulation and soft tissue techniques.

Working from home & spending hours at your computer? Osteopaths can help with shoulder, neck & upper back pain. One of the causes of headaches is postural tension from poor sitting/working postures.

After low back pain, neck pain is the second most common complaint we treat . We use a combination of gentle joint manipulation, articulation, soft tissue massage techniques & stretching in order to improve muscle tension & joint stiffness. Patient review ⭐️

Shockwave treatment for plantar fasciitis is recommended by the NICE guidelines as an effective treatment. Patients report excellent results in 3-6 treatments, with weekly intervals between appointments.

Shockwave is also an effective treatment for other tendinopathies such as Achilles tendinopathy, tennis/golfers elbow, trochanteric bursitis and calcific tendinopathy.

Suffering with headaches?

At Weybridge Osteopath we’ve seen a number of patients this week with headaches due to a cervicogenic or tension type cause. With so many of us still working from home at inappropriate desk set ups, this may be a cause for postural issues, neck pain and headache symptoms.

Osteopathy may be able to help. We use a combination of joint manipulation, gentle articulation, soft tissue work and stretching to address postural issues.

Did you know that you can see an Osteopath during & after pregnancy for check ups?

This week in practice we’ve seen a number of expectant mothers with low back pain, pelvic girdle issues & neck pain related to breast feeding. These can be as a result of fluctuating hormonal changes such as relaxin, women can experience joint instability and inflammation.

Osteopathic treatment is a gentle & effective form of manual therapy that can provide pain relief from spinal and pelvic pain during and after pregnancy.

Golfers elbow is also known as medial epicondylosis and is due to wear & tear of the tendons that control wrist & forearm motion. It is a condition not just exclusively to golfers but can be present in patients who do racquet/throwing sports, weight training or repetitive forearm/wrist motions.

Shockwave is an excellent treatment option that delivers high intensity acoustic/pressure waves to the tendons. It cause local inflammation, pain relief & promotes a healing response in the tissues.

Foot, heel or arch pain?🦶Did you know that Osteopaths can treat foot & ankle issues including plantar Fasciitis…

The condition is due to microtears and inflammation of the band of tissue under the arch of your foot. Often the cause is unknown but is common in runners or patients who are in occupations that spend a lot of time on their feet.

Shockwave treatment is an excellent alternative to more invasive options such as cortisone injections. Typically it may take between 3-6 sessions but patients report good recovery outcomes.

Celebrating 10 years!!! 🌟🎂

We are delighted to have been able to provide osteopathic consultations for over 10years in Weybridge, Surrey.

Our osteopath Emily Bryant M.Ost, qualified from the British School of Osteopathy, now known as the University College of Osteopathy. Over the past 10years we have gained a wealth of experience treating patients in weybridge with musculoskeletal conditions.

Emily has specialist experience with rugby sports injuries. She has worked as lead medic for a Surrey rugby club, completing the highest pitch side immediate care in sport qualification from the RFU. Emily also has trained other osteopaths to provide pitch side care.

Recently we have added shockwave therapy to our practice in order to become one of Surrey’s leading practices for the treatment of tendinopathies.
