Tension in your neck and shoulder? we are a leading Surrey clinic in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries using shockwave therapy.

Shockwave treatment is used alongside osteopathic techniques such as soft tissue, stretching and inhibition to help with stubborn myofascial trigger points.

Shockwave is minimally invasive and uses acoustic sound waves to cause local tissue changes and promote healing. For chronic trigger points, patients can expect to see good results between 1-4 sessions.

Patients often come to see osteopaths due to a ‘cricked neck’. Most of us are familiar with sleeping awkwardly or tweaking our neck but have you ever wondered what causes this? 💥

There can be several reasons such as facet locks, muscle spasms or disc herniations.

The most common cause of a ‘facet lock’ is due the highly pain sensitive joint capsule becoming caught or pinched causing the restriction & muscle spasm.

Working from home & spending hours at your computer? Osteopaths can help with shoulder, neck & upper back pain. One of the causes of headaches is postural tension from poor sitting/working postures.

After low back pain, neck pain is the second most common complaint we treat . We use a combination of gentle joint manipulation, articulation, soft tissue massage techniques & stretching in order to improve muscle tension & joint stiffness. Did you know that osteopaths treat other conditions such as frozen shoulder, calcific tendinopathy & subacromial impingement (just to name a few!).

We use a variety of hands on treatments such as soft tissue, stretching, joint articulation & exercise rehab to improve shoulder range of movement & reduce pain.

As osteopaths, we can refer for imaging such as ultrasound & MRI scans and we have excellent connections with Surrey consultants for steroid injections & other interventions if necessary.

Shockwave treatment for plantar fasciitis is recommended by the NICE guidelines as an effective treatment. Patients report excellent results in 3-6 treatments, with weekly intervals between appointments.

Shockwave is also an effective treatment for other tendinopathies such as Achilles tendinopathy, tennis/golfers elbow, trochanteric bursitis and calcific tendinopathy.
