Letting go is an essential part of labour and birth…you have to let your thinking go, be present and let your body lead…it takes practice to be present in your body and to trust it when most of the time we live in our heads…this week’s pregnancy yoga class is all about trust and letting go 💫

My new pregnancy yoga classes start this week in Weybridge 🌸 these classes will be gentle and nourishing with as many birth tips as I can weave into the class…I like to think of it as emotional support wrapped in movement 🌸

To the parents who just received a Down Syndrome diagnosis for their child,

It’s okay to be frightened, cry & grieve.

Just know that this unexpected journey will change your life for the better… if you let it.

When we first received the news I remember thinking how this diagnosis would change our lives for the worse.

However in just 3 short years our son has made me a more understanding, compassionate, patient & so many more traits I never knew I was lacking.

Luca has given me a purpose, but only because I released my control and let it be.

I could have stayed in the mentality of “why me” and “what ifs”, but I didn’t want too.

Instead I embraced our new life and his diagnosis & it has blessed our family💙💛

As a father of 5 children and at the request been present at the births of many babies .I never cease to wonder at the magic of the moment with the little being that has been a long time coming is now present in the mothers arms.✨

I think this exquisite photograph captures that moment visible in the face and arms of the new mother who is totally absorbed in touch uninterrupted skin to skin belly to belly with her new baby .✨

✨Beautiful 📷 thank you Kimberly for sharing with me

Me 🌸

Here's to the often-overlooked mums with wakeful TODDLERS. Still waking every hour or two.

The ones for whom the fourth trimester seems to have spilled out into the 5th, 6th, or more like 10th.

The ones with an eternal newborn whose very immediate need for you has never. let. up.

The ones for whom the nights are still as challenging as they were way back on day one, whilst the days grow ever-challenging too with the added dimension of toddlerdom.

The ones who feel guilty that they are still not enjoying it as they should.

The ones for whom sympathy waned long ago.

The ones who no longer discuss how their night was.

The ones who are looked upon as lazy if they nap when baby naps, because, well, he's not a baby anymore.

The ones who "really should have sorted this out by now."

The ones whose tiredness has accumulated over months and years so that it is now just part of them.

The ones who feel like the world has passed them by and that they will never find their way out of this sleep-deprived fog.

SLEEP IS COMING FOR YOU SOON.
