Savannah Strategy🦁

Today we have ventured on our Bupa Savannah journey as we watch a documentary on the safari desert life and discuss what the Savannah27 is 🐘
Our wonderful residents have been getting beautifully creative as they colour in various animals connected to our Savannah journey🦓

Each animal represents a different meaning and we have incorporated our residents into this Bupa journey with us🦒
We will be adding various activities as we evolve our Savannah Project and bring more to our home and notice boards🪴

Crafty Friday🎨

This morning we had our fortnight arts and crafts activity with Erika🤗
We have nearly finished our bowls, and today we started painting them and also made some water colour post cards🫟

Our residents love their artistic activities and always look forward to their fortnight Friday crafts with Erika🫶

Due to technical circumstances we have had to reschedule our afternoon live entertainment with Dave Mac today 🎤
He will now be coming on Tuesday 19th August instead for a joyful sing along!!

Yesterday we had our Church Service afternoon with Vicar Mark from St Mary’s, and he too has been rescheduled to Wednesday 30th July so he will be coming then to offer an in house service ⛪️

We apologise for the inconvenience and cancellation of our Sutton Lodge activities and entertainment 💙

ACTIVITIES & EVENTS UPDATE!!!

Due to personal reasons, we will no longer be having Heather join us for her aromatherapy hand massages for the rest of the year! We wish her well and hopefully when she feels better she will return to our little home 🏡

Second update is we are due to have the Zoo Lab visit next Wednesday but this has been rescheduled to Thursday 21st August at 2pm🐸

Creative Monday☀️

This morning our residents got making a paper quilt project, with the words SUTTON LODGE💙
They got colouring, painting and drawing as they get creative together and make something unique that is close to home 🏡

In the afternoon they had a break as they got exercising with Dawn who comes every other Monday to help keep our residents, relative and staff fit if they wish to participate 💪
This session gives our residents a chance to stretch out their limbs and get moving in their seats to help keep them fit and healthy⭐️

After we had our exercises and stretched ourselves out, our residents got involved in another creative activity as they got experimenting with water colour on various materials 🎨
This week they have been using water colour on cloth, creating beautiful patterns and pieces of art with their own unique designs 🫟

Space Exploration Day⭐️

As well as completing the video we posted earlier, our residents have for involved in other space themed activities today🪐
We have been doing themed word searches, crosswords, quizzes and word wheel ⁉️
Our word wheel was also space themed and they found the 9 letter word to be SPACESUIT🧑‍🚀

They have also enjoyed relaxing with a cup of coffee and a slice of homemade cake whilst watching a space themed movie they chose, E.T👽

Today we have been having a pamper with our foot spa, where our residents soaked their feet, and once dried had a massage 🦶
We then had a day of various golf activities as the championships have returned this weekend 🏆
Golf game, themed Word Wheel, Golf Maze, themed Word Search and Golf Quiz🔍⁉️

Weekly Fitness & Rat Pack Afternoon☀️

Our residents have had a busy day with various activities and word games, including our daily Word Wheel 🛞
And this afternoon they got moving with our weekly fitness instructor Claire as she got everyone exercising and keeping fit💪
We then had a cool down as we listened and sang along to Rat Pack with Daniel Brewerton as he performed hits from Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and more🎤

Today we held an Emoji quiz in the lounge and got our residents learning about the social media pictograms that a lot of society use today🙂
Our previous Sutton Lodge posts hold a lot of these deferents emoji emotions and icons to help posts and messages look more colourful and creative ☀️
