Dear Patients

The Government announcement that total National lockdown is commencing from Thursday 5/11/2020.
We have received an update from the Government which highlight the restrictions.

Provisionally all medical services including Physiotherapy will still be offered in a face-to-face capacity.

The CSP & Public Health England guidance has not been amended yet and we will keep you up to date as soon as this change.

For further information https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november -and-venues

Please contact me on 0773 673 1022 or admin@meyerphysio.com if you require treatment.
We will determine what will be the safest route for treatment, either remotely or face-to-face.

Best wishes
Suegnet

We are taking guidance from the PHE and CSP to ensure a safe environment is maintained during consultations. We have a screening process in place and ask patients to sign an informed consent form prior to attending the face-to-face appointment. PPE will be provided for patients.

Diagnostic Ultrasound in musculoskeletal medicine is used to identify more objectively where pathology is located.

We can view any soft tissue structure up to a depth of 4-6 cm. The advantage of diagnostic ultrasound is that :
- It is safe - ultrasound does not cause damaging radiation as compared to X-ray imaging
- It is very easy to compare to the opposite side to determine what the normal is.
- We can also do a diagnostic ultrasound in real time to determine where the patient has pain. For instance if the patient has pain on squatting or stair climbing, we can place the ultrasound probe on the region and scan the region while the patient is performing the activity.
- We can also determine if an inflammatory reaction is taking place by using Doppler measurements
- It is safe and easy to use on children

Ultrasound is a specialised assessment modality and extensive training is required to perform this properly.

I am currently completing a university post-graduate level education that also involves being mentored by a consultant radiologist with the aim to complete over 250 scans. The consultant will be present during the scans.

We are seeking active patients with sports injuries to scan!

If you have any problems with sports injuries then pls get in contact !

Strength training is important as we age

Weight-bearing and resistance-training exercises help maintain and even develop muscle mass, which can otherwise deteriorate.

Finally! Cannabis based drugs can now be prescribed by GPs

Doctors in the UK can now prescribe two cannabis-based medicinal products, which can benefit people with medical conditions such as epilepsy and spasticity.
