Preparation is Key!

Tonight our members were preparing for worst case scenario for this years London marathon along with some other minor incidents.

Members got to grips with the potential of extricating a patient from the course who is in cardiac arrest, an incident that could well happen ⛑️

Another first aid awareness session completed this morning ⛑️

This FREE course was attended by 17 members of our community all looking to learn the basics of child and baby first aid.

Ambulance Visit 🚑

Members tonight enjoyed a visit from 2 Emergency Ambulance Crew who kindly showed us around some kit.

Members got the change to run through some drills such as a cardiac arrest in the back of an ambulance, all aiding towards our inter-working partnerships with our EACs.

Fantastic evening for all! Especially our manikin John!

Well, that was a surprise.
Though on the short list of the Runnymede Civic Awards for the Volunteer Group of the Year Award, we were not expecting to win it.
The last time we won an award outside of St John was back in 1980, when we won the Metropolitan Police award as Weybridge Division. Prior to that, back in the 70's when awarded a certificate from BBC David (Diddy) Hamilton radio show.
First time as the North West Surrey Network, still this works in our favour as we now cover 4 Council areas at the moment.

Well that ticks the box, 8 CFA's have now done a moving & handling session, at least they can assist ER's if needed.

As they say "The early bird catch's the worm." Well not so much worms but commuters.
Two members held a bucket collection at SWT Weybridge station from 6:00 - 10:00 and raised £539:88.

Yet another succesfull Saturday.
Fithteen mums/dads, grandparents plus two babies one only three weeks old attended the awareness session.
Then in the afternoon twelve more people attended the adult CPR plus use of a Defib.
