Are You Hungry? Perhaps You're Just Thirsty!
Did you know that people frequently think they are hungry when they are actually thirsty or dehydration? Often your body is actually telling you it needs water rather than food. Did you know that getting adequate hydration is critical for your energy levels, metabolism, digestion, and even weight control. It’s more common than you realise, a lot of people don't drink enough water each day, which makes them feel bloated, lethargic, and always hungry.
This is why it's important to stay hydrated:
💧 Ensure you drink water on a regular basis. Try to consume at least two litres a day, this should increase in the warmer months and if you are an active person. Drink a glass of water in the morning to boost your metabolism, and continue to drink water throughout the day to maintain consistent energy levels. Additionally, drinking a glass of water prior to eating can aid in portion control.
🚫 Give Up Sugary Drinks Fruit juices, energy drinks, and fizzy drinks because these can all be high in sugar, which can lead to blood sugar dropping and surging which will make you feel more hungry. Water, herbal teas, or sparkling water with a lemon slice are great alternatives. You will feel more refreshed and invigorated in addition to cutting back on unneeded calories.
