How would you prefer to spend the last years of your life: in a sterile, hospital-like institution or in a village with a supermarket, pub, theater and park within easy walking distance? SO VERY LOVELY TO READ THIS RECENT TESTAMONIAL !!! . 😊
The author did not wish to add to google / yell to avoid sharing her personal date but consented to it being copied and pasted .
Many warm thanks F 😊
I first met Justine and her group of carers when, as usual, I telephoned my only cousin on her birthday in March, 2019. Since then, I have become aware of just how well Betty was being cared for. She told me how wonderful Justine was, how she lived in, how she understood her every need.
I know how much Betty feared having to leave her home for residential care. When, therefore, having had a period of necessary hospitalisation, the time came for her discharge, I was prepared to do whatever I could to see that she would be allowed to go home and be cared for by Justine and her team.
Betty was allowed to have her wish ( no intervention by me was needed ) so she experienced the best possible end of life she could have wished for. Justine kept me informed of all the changes. I was sent a video of Betty receiving some flowers from her Smeaton cousins and the younger generation. This was facilitated by Karen and Jess. Later, a short time before her death, I was able to speak to Betty by telephone. This call was really “Good bye “ - I shall never forget it.
So my experience of “ Long Live in Home Care Ltd “ is extraordinarily good. Caring, compassionate, efficient, understanding and totally dedicated - I cannot fully express the gratitude we feel for how they cared for my cousin Betty.

It’s Another Manic Monday ?
Wow we are back to Monday already !!! I hope you are all feeling rested.
Sadly this is not the case for many people caring for elderly family members .Their caring roles are often demanding, physically and mentally ,leaving very little time to catch up on their own essential chores let alone time to properly rest and switch off .
It’s so important for caregivers to get some quality ‘ me ‘ time and to recharge their batteries Being kind to yourself as a care giver is being productive in the level of care you give .
LONG LIVE IN HOME CARE places great importance on our caregivers wellbeing who in turn do so for our clients .
Short term respite care ( 24 hrs , weekend care , night care , day care ) is available at any time allowing for that much needed and well deserved rest with the knowledge that your loved ones are in great hands .
Short term care also offers an insight to Live In Care for those who are considering their future long term care requirements .
Perhaps a weekend or more of quality rest is the best gift you can reward yourself or another family member with this Christmas 🎅 and boy do you caring family members need it !!! 👏👏👏😍

Unfortunately for both my sister and I, our mother and both sets of parents did not live very long lives so we missed out on all those wonderful and personal conversations of past accounts of wartime, lifestyles, pastimes etc that families tend to share.
On a positive note my fabulous work role allows for inclusion with such conversations with my lovely clients from whom I am learning so much from. I have come across some interesting household gadgets used in the past which hold such a fascination for me.
Each Wednesday I will share a picture of an old gadget. Let’s see how familiar it was within your family, it’s a great opportunity to talk and share moments with parents, grandparents and other family members.
I can’t wait to read about your family experiences/accounts and of course the right answer 😊.
So here goes todays...

So very delighted in sharing this testamonial. 😌😊
Good news, you have a new review on Yell.com
Hi Long Live in Home Care,
Your business was just reviewed on Yell.com.
Wonderful Care
Justine cared for my neighbour of 25 years, for the last 5 years of her life. Within a few weeks of meeting Justine I knew that my neighbour was very fortunate to have found her. Her warmth, understanding, empathy and respect was evident from the start.
My neighbour lived to be 94 years old. She had always lived alone and was determined to remain living in her own home until the end. It was Justine who ensured that this happened.
Over the 5 years Justine also introduced other carers to ensure that every need was catered for in all aspects of my neighbour’s life. She was very particular in finding carers who were perfectly matched for the role and had the same values and love of their job as Justine.
I don’t have first hand/family experience of her care, but through contact with my neighbour over the last 5 years of her life, which was increasingly difficult, it was clear to see what a wonderful, compassionate job Justine and her team did to the very end.

WHAT DOES A CUP OF TEA AND A BISCUIT MEAN FOR YOU ?
For most of us a tea break ....perhaps at work, in between household/garden chores or even a catch up with a friend.
For one of our clients this meant so much more.
Our lovely care team could not fathom out why this dear lady appeared to become so subdued at a particular time of the day. When gently asked she stated she didn’t want to make a fuss and with further encouragement she declared that she was missing the routine that herself and her newly departed husband had shared daily since his retirement.
Every day at 3 pm he would bring them both tea and a biscuit and they would sit next to each other looking out onto their garden., and here he would without fail tell her how very happy she had made him in life.
The very next day at 3 pm her care team brought to her, tea and biscuits for two and she sat beside the empty chair of her husband, facing the garden where she had “her moment “with him.
Sometimes it is the simple things in life that can have the most meaning for us .
All enjoy your cuppas today and have a great weekend 😊

Vocational Satisfaction
care
/kɛː/
verb
gerund or present participle: caring
1. 1. feel concern or interest; attach importance to something.
The above is a simple description but what it doesn’t do is explain the lengths that a person will go to , to provide care that will impact so positively on an individuals daily outlook to life .
The sincere care that isnt just meeting practical needs but which involves attention to detail , going the extra mile , above and beyond to enhance a persons wellbeing .
True care is so deep seated and manifests itself without a hidden gender , timescales or a means to an end .
To come away from a vulnerable person , feeling that GLOW inside that your ‘ hidden qualities ‘have brought something truly special into that persons heart and happiness , knowing that you have contributed to that person feeling valued , heard and that their very existence counts significantly like the rest of us ....NOW THAT IS THE BEST FEELING EVER !!!!... Vocational Satisfaction 😍
You all know who you are 😊🙏

Elderly And Loneliness
Ask yourself this:
‘ Have you ever experienced a whole week in which you have had no contact whatsoever with anybody either in person ,via a phone call or video link ?’
Most of us cannot claim we have but put to the test this would without doubt , prove to be mentally challenging and just about manageable ( and that’s with the knowledge it is temporary .)
Many elderly people do not have this choice and social isolation has become the norm ... seriously take 5 mins out of your day today and ponder this . Try to imagine how that would make you feel ...I mean really feel !
Enjoy all those points of social contact today and everybody have a great day 😊
Best wishes
Justine

Planning Now and Ahead For Our Elderly Family Members And Friends .
With one difficult lockdown behind us we now find ourselves with heavy hearts entering yet another . This year we have all experienced how this impacts so negatively on our mental health and if anything how much we all rely on social interaction .
Our elderly members in particular have been affected more than most and LONELINESS impacts both on physical and mental health. It isn’t just about meeting practical and daily needs ,COMPANIONSHIP plays an essential part in fulfilment of wellbeing .
From my own experience with my clients and the feedback from their relatives and friends it is evident to see the significant change in an elderly persons daily outlook when they have Live In Home Care . It is so personal and wonderfully beneficial on so many levels. The benefits far out way that to residential care .
For anybody who is looking into care for their family and / or friends please consider this option , with nothing at all to lose and everything positive to gain !!!
We have experience in short term ( day and / or night ) and long term care , holiday and respite cover . justine@longliveinhomecare.co.uk
All stay safe and let’s keep connected with the vulnerable members of our community .😊
Best wishes
Justine

This week ..it is with great sadness for the team and I to wish
‘ A very fond farewell ‘ 🙏
to a much loved client of ours 😢.
This extraordinary lady lived her 94 years to the full , participating in various clubs , societies , trips and holidays .The amount of Christmas cards she received each year was testament to how well thought of she was among her friends and family.
It has been an ABSOLUTE PRIVILEGE sharing your journey these last few years . Each and every one of us has learned so much from your infinite wealth of knowledge. We have shared so much with you ..endless cups of tea , fascinating accounts of your early years , tears of laughter , (your humour will always be remembered ) , your determined ability to keep active , involved and independent right to the very end will always be admired ... a true inspiration to us all .. our lovely EB who has left her mark on all our hearts
🙏 ###xx

Long Live In Home Care serves to provide our cherished adult members of our community with exceptionally high standards of care and companionship thus empowering a persons ability to live their life to their greatest expectation and within the comfort of their own home.
I found myself unexpectedly in a situation with a friend who found herself in need of daily support in order to remain residing within her one and only home of 90 years .
Soon after being discharged home following a minor operation my friend found herself back in hospital and then onto a care home as it was deemed unsafe for her to return home alone .
During my time caring for my friend it soon became evident to see the wonderful benefits
of how live in home support enhanced her daily life and promoted her general well being This satisfying experience inspired me to set up my very own live in home care business.
Five years on, my experienced team and I are accompanying others on their extraordinary journey.
