Last Saturday morning, some of the Riverside team swapped coffee-fuelled life admin for CPD with Occupational Therapist and Riverside Associate Samantha Reece, exploring the Kawa River Model and how it can be used in practice.
The Kawa Model uses the image of a river to help people explore their life, looking at what’s flowing well, what’s getting in the way and what might be restricting movement or progress. Simple in theory, surprisingly thought-provoking once you actually start using it.
One of the things we’re most proud of at Riverside is the community of practitioners who continue to learn, reflect and develop their practice alongside one another. Although many of our associates are self-employed, there’s a real sense of collaboration here, with people bringing different perspectives, specialisms and experience into the room.
Opportunities like this are part of what makes Riverside what it is. Regular CPD, thoughtful conversations and the chance to learn from skilled professionals across different disciplines all contribute to the quality of support offered within the centre.
