Q) What are the benefits of mindfulness?

A) There are many benefits to practicing mindfulness and mindfulness meditation that have been documented in clinical research. Some of these benefits are –

💚 Reduction in stress levels.
💚Reduction in levels of anxiety and depression.
💚Reduction in pain levels in those with certain health conditions.
💚Improved sleep patterns and quality of sleep.
💚Improved general health and well being.

Mindfulness and mindfulness meditation also help us to deal with the general ups and downs of everyday life. Through mindfulness practices we can begin to understand how to respond to difficult life events in a calmer more balanced way rather than react to them in an automatic, habitual way.

We’re always so caught up in thoughts – the mind is always thinking!

The trouble is when we get so caught up in thought that we forget to notice what’s going on for us in this moment.

I wonder if you close your eyes now and think back over the last week at everything you’ve done and all you’ve achieved. We say “The week has flown!” “Where does time go?”

But I also wonder what we’ve missed along the way by thinking so much about what we have to do next, constantly moving forward in our minds. How much time have we actually spent in the present moment…
Maybe you can find an opportunity this weekend for some ‘be’ time! To step out of ‘doing’ mode and allow yourself just to ‘be’ in the present moment.
To take a minute to slow down and experience the here and now and notice how that feels…💚
