Somerset House Nursing Home offers residential and nursing care for up to 43 elderly people in York.

Somerset House Care and Nursing Home is in the beautiful village of Wheldrake near York. Dedicated nursing and care staff provide nursing and specialist dementia care for residents with various care needs. The staff get to know each resident individually to provide person-centred activities focused on ensuring people have every opportunity to continue their hobbies and interests.

Our residents at Somerset House Nursing Home have been having a fantastic time using our brand-new indoor curling set – just look at those smiles in the photos! 😊

We want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Wheldrake Parish Council for their incredibly generous gifts of the curling set and a wonderful selection of craft materials. These thoughtful donations will help keep our residents busy, creative, and happy for many hours to come.

🎪 What a fantastic day! Stu from Circus Skills paid us a visit at Somerset House Nursing Home and wowed everyone with his incredible talents. From juggling to plate spinning, his skills left us all amazed! Our residents even gave some tricks a go.🥁👏

Our minibus trip was full of chatter and anticipation, and the afternoon didn’t disappoint — with good company and plenty to see.🗣️🏡💜

🎾🍓 Wimbledon Day Highlights at Somerset House Nursing Home! 🍓🎾

We had a fantastic day celebrating Wimbledon with our residents!

In the morning, we enjoyed a fun balloon tennis competition, and in the afternoon we had a lovely prize giving followed by strawberries and cream, cream cakes, and sparkling drinks.🍰🎈

Residents also made their own bunting to decorate the walls and add to the Wimbledon spirit! 🎉💜

🌸Mother’s Day Fun!🌸

We had a lovely time celebrating Mother’s Day with painting, card making, and a fun collage activity. 🎨💐

Also for Mother's Day we enjoyed a sweet afternoon tea with cakes, tea, coffee, music, and lots of great chats ☕🍰🎶

And of course, we didn’t forget the dads — we had a special table just for them too! 👨‍🦱💙

March has been filled with fun and engaging activities here at Somerset House! ✨💜

From sing-alongs and dominoes to celebrating St. Patrick's Day with arts and crafts, we’ve also enjoyed a few rounds of skittles and tested our luck with Play Your Cards Right. Darts and exercise sessions have also kept us active so far this month.🎶🃏
