We are delighted to have spaces at Happy Days Centre - Whitby within our setting at Town and Country - Shetland House an extra 2 days a week (Tuesday and Thursday) to come and join in the fun with us on our soacial days. If your wanting to come and join in the fun please call 01947606187

We had a wonderful care home coffee morning with our friends at Peregrine House today. We played bingo with a lovely cuppa and a catch up with people we haven’t seen in a long time. Our ladies thoroughly enjoyed themselves,thank you for your hospitality ❤️

Two birthdays celebrated this week at Shetland House. First Helen who visits our day centre and is 97 years young. Today our wonderful resident Bill who is such an amazing gentleman. Both had great days with plenty of cake made by our cook, thanks Nik they both loved your cake and the effort that you put into them ❤️

Our wonderful resident Bill expressed how he loves watching the bobsled’s compete and if he was younger he would like to have a go. Next best thing to make his wish come true, what a star Bill is 🌟⭐️🌟

The weather maybe miserable but Shetland House had a very cheerful day at Scarborough sealife centre. We had the best time especially with the penguins, it was difficult to tear ourselves away even with all the rain 💙

Respite & Recover Centre

Our respite centre offers a safe and comfortable place for people to stay from a minimum of 3 nights, up to 6 weeks. With 24/7 care we offer the opportunity for anyone to come and visit the beautiful sea-side town of Whitby, safe in the knowledge that their care needs can be catered for. The centre is also the perfect place to recover after a recent hospital stay or fall, we can help you get back on your feet and build your confidence ready to return back home.

We have 4 bedrooms available, one is an en-suite with Sky TV! Our facilities include a whirlpool bath bath with bath and ceiling hoist, wet room, laundry service, TV and DVD player in each room and endless books and games too. During weekdays our visitors can make their way in to our day centre, this is a great place for them to socialise, join in with crafts and activities and even have a sing along! Our own mini-bus’ collect many people from the local area and bring them to the centre each day, making it a great place to chat and make friends.

Our care staff are all highly trained and will be on-hand 24/7 to assist you during your stay. We provide a fresh meal each day and you can get involved with choosing the shopping list for the week, to make sure all of your favourite snacks and drinks are available!
