Since winning our award (I just had to mention it again! 😉) at the Association of Green Funeral Directors Good Funeral Awards, we have been thinking of ways to become greener and more eco-friendly. The AGFD is a non-profit making organisation aiming to bring natural eco-friendly funerals to the mainstream. We already try to offer more sustainable pet caskets like bamboo or cardboard but our Equine Scatter Bags have been a huge bugbear for a few years now. I really disliked them but finding something strong enough to hold 25kg of equine ash is quite a task and we had been forced to use extra heavy duty bags covered with white rubble bags and ribbon for far too long. The old bags couldn’t be buried and would probly end up in landfill after use which bothered me greatly. So, we are now trialing our greatly improved new eco-friendly Equine Scatter Bags which have no plastic whatsoever! It remains to be seen how they will fair but so far we have had no complaints and I think that they look rather nice! 🙂 We would really value your opinions and feedback from any of our lovely clients that have taken their loved one home in one. We are really hoping that these will work and we can do our bit for the environment. 😍 xx
