I hope everyone is having a great start to December. In order to allow you plenty of time to arrange appointments over the busy festive period, I will share my December availability below:

🎄 Appointments available as usual until Friday, 19th December
🎄 Daytime appointments available Wednesday, 31st December
🎄 Appointments available as usual from Friday, 2nd January

Availability is limited outside of these hours, please check the booking system or message me to book in.

Happy Halloween everybody 🎃 Brenda is my glamorous skeleton assistant all year round, she helps me explain anatomy and movement when discussing the body's structure. But this time of year in particular is her time to shine 🕷️🕸️🦇🎃👻

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is particularly important to me as my amazing mum is a breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed at 51 and is now 15 years clear and living in good health. Early detection and treatment was key here. 💪

As practitioners, when assessing a condition we may ask questions about systemic health that may not seem immediately connected to the source of the discomfort/pain, this allows us to screen for any underlying causes. In most cases the condition is musculoskeletal and we can go ahead with treatment, but if something isn't adding up we may encourage you to contact your GP to further investigate any underlying issues.

When you blink and it's October 🎃 It's been a bit quiet here on socials but very busy behind the scenes! My goals as a practitioner are to reduce pain and get you moving back towards your goals in as few sessions as possible (while I love getting to know my patients it is also always a great feeling to know I have helped fix an issue and they can walk away feeling good!) Now that we're well into the summer holidays, I asked my assistant Brenda for her best tips to feel the very best you can in your body this summer 💪🏼 Here's what she had to say...

☀️ Stay hydrated in the heat! If you're feeling particularly dehydrated, try coconut water which is full of electrolytes 🥥
☀️ Don't forget your SPF... and to stay out of the sun during the hottest parts of the day. Did you know UVA rays can be just as damaging in overcast weather as they are when it's sunny? 🌥️
☀️ If you have a sore shoulder, back, knee, ankle or anything in between, don't forget to book in at JV Sports Therapy to get you feeling great again this summer 😎

Those of you keenly following Wimbledon are likely to have noticed some players with circular markings on their skin, this is from dry cupping. Dry cupping is commonly used to promote healing and reduce muscle soreness. I am a big fan myself and it can be very effective for certain conditions!

I'm excited to be bringing a new treatment into the clinic! It has been highly requested to provide a therapeutic full body massage service, so going forward you can book in with Matt who will be offering 90 minute full body massage appointments. These are designed to promote relaxation, recovery and stress relief. For new patients this will include an assessment. I hope this will be a good fit for those clients who simply want a massage rather than treatment for a specific injury/pain relief - this will also make a great gift (gift vouchers are available 🙂🎁)
