Our senior resident vet, Monica Morganti has the honour of chairing two sessions discussing equine reproduction topics, at the world renown BEVA - The British Equine Veterinary Association Congress. The conference is running from the 10th-13th September.

Monica will be attending each day of the conference along with the rest of our vet team Rebecca Keating, Deirdre O’Dea and Valentine Lietaert and with Edward Matson.

The team are attending lectures and enjoying meeting fellow veterinary colleagues on our stand and around the conference centre.

Next month is a busy one for our resident vet, Rebecca. Rebecca will be presenting at BEVA - The British Equine Veterinary Congress where you can find her in the ‘Reproduction: Advanced techniques’ session on Thursday.
She is presenting on “Recipient mare: An integral part of the process - their effect on outcome and appropriate selection” as well as being on the panel for “Advanced reproductive techniques - progress or ethical dilemma?”

Not only is she sharing her knowledge with her colleagues at BEVA, in September Rebecca is getting married and we wish her many congratulations.

Our managing partner, Edward, and senior resident vet, Monica are heading to AETE (Association of Embryo Technology in Europe) in Cork, Ireland today.

Its set to be an exciting conference with colleagues discussing the latest advancements and techniques in advanced reproduction.

We are thrilled to be providing the Burghley scholarship at this year’s Defender Burghley Horse Trials. This special award of two embryo transfers will be presented to the highest-placed British domiciled mare to finish in the top 20.

Twemlows is committed to encouraging elite British breeding and embryo transfer facilitates competing mares to breed at their optimum breeding age, without interrupting their competition career.

Previous winners of this award include Kings Temptress ridden by Mary King, Vanir Kamira ridden by Piggy March and Classic Moet ridden by Jonelle Price. The award has been won for the past two years by eventing’s world number one Harry Meade Eventing's mare Cavalier Crystal.

Who will it be this year? With some incredible mares set to compete this year, we are excited to see who will win. Stay tuned.

Can you help? We need recipient mares.

At Twemlows we provide various embryo transfer services. This means a “surrogate” mare carries the foal of another mare, who may still be competing or unable to breed herself. To do this, we need surrogate, or recipient mares, and you might be able to help.

We need mares that are:
• 16.1hh or over
• Between 4-9 years old (or older if she has had a foal before)
• Warmblood/Sports horse type (not full TB)
• Paddock sound
• No vices, sarcoids or sweet itch
• Barefoot

Do you have a mare who can come and join our happy herd of recipient mares?

Have you been to the iconic Equestrian at Bolesworth International Show? If not, you still have time, it’s been running from June 27th and will continue up until this Sunday. With top tier riders from around the world, Bolesworth International brings you showjumping at its finest.

The Twemlows team will be there on Friday night at the Elite Auction and Gala Night and would love to meet and talk to as many clients, new and old, as possible. Do come and say hi.

We’ll also be keeping our eye on one special Twemlows bred foal for sale in the auction 👀 The Cleopatra Della Cassia x United Touch S foal was a Twemlows OPU/ICSI produced frozen embryo, transferred into a Twemlows recipient mare called Paris.

We are proud to announce that we are sponsoring the Bradwall Manor Horse Trials taking place this weekend.
