The exquisite beauty of Beltane πŸ’™πŸ’•. There really is something magical about the pace with which spring picks up. The yellows and whites, and now the blues and pinks. The fresh greens, gradually darkening up, the birdsong, the quickening.

These are a few pics from the past few days. A lovely stomp up to Dinas Bran, a pre Beltane almost full moon bonfire, pinky dawn and birdsong and the Llangollen canal.

Juggling a full and busy life means stopping to post up here doesn't happen as much as I would like. But the beauty of the season calls me to share. Stopping for a moment and absorbing the exquisite beauty of it all - the season, the sky, the waters. Drinking it in, feeling it's vibrancy and feeling the connection that we are all one πŸ™β€οΈ

Persistence and perseverance are often associated with hard work - they don't have to be!

When it comes to your health, where are your blind spots πŸ‘€? The first step is about becoming aware of them and acknowledging them.

If you wish to make improvements in those areas, the next thing is to look for opportunities to do things differently.

Be openly curious about what is getting in your way.

Be openly curious about how it might feel to undergo the upgrade ✨️

Don't underestimate the power of making small positive changes. They really compound over time πŸ’ͺβ€οΈπŸ™Œβœ¨οΈ

Has it ever occurred to you that you can do a herb walk almost anywhere?
Down a suburban street admiring plants and β€˜w**ds’ in front gardens, in cities, parks, waste land, even motor way central reservations (my hobby in traffic jams πŸ˜‚)!

Before moving to the rolling hills of gorgeous Shropshire, I used to live in London, and it’s incredibly full of hidden gems. At the moment I am visiting my brother, getting some quality time together in with him in the evenings (we don’t get to hang out much) and working from his flat in the daytime. Movement and daylight are essential to me, so today I went on an impromptu walk and covered β€˜new ground’.

Here are some pics of the marvellous Plant Allies I came across 😊. I have marked them with an E or an M below according to whether they are edible or medicinal!

Impromtu herb walks are a delight to me – every time! Whether they are solo or with a group.

The super powers of persistence and perseverance πŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈ!

How do they show up in your life? And how good at you at getting back on the bicycle or horse after metaphorically falling off πŸ˜…?

There is ALWAYS scope for incremental positive change! Don't underestimate it's power or potential πŸ’ͺ😎❀️✨️

The beauty of nature captivates me every single day πŸ’š

And working with our nature, the interplay between form and formless, is such a gift. Our physical being, this human vessel, our emotional state, and the invisible aspect to us, which is spirit. Our innate intelligence. The dance.

Posting up here has become less frequent. There is too much noise. What most of us need is more quiet. Of course the algorithm doesn't like that, so if you would like to stay in touch, please do sign up to my newsletter. I aim for one a month, but usually only achieve them every two πŸ˜….

Life, the unfolding, the dance, they continue. Whether there is an audience or not πŸ™ƒπŸŒΈ

Fresh new start blessings to you. Every moment is a fresh opportunity to navigate differently 🩷

Good compost is a gift and joy! Some of this is a bit compacted, but overall I am very happy with it.

One of the best things we can learn in life is composting! Transmuting waste into something wonderful! One of my favourite sayings is that life chucks πŸ’© at all of us. The question is whether we sink in it, or compost it and grow Roses 🌹 or veg πŸ₯¦ πŸ˜‚.

My first degree was in botany 30 years ago πŸ™ˆ and soil science and learning about some microbes opened me up to a whole new layer of appreciation and wonder! That was followed by qualifying with a BSc (Hons) in herbal medicine almost 10 years later and a deep appreciation for our digestive function, organic farming and microbiome basics. Now 20 years on i am deep diving into the most comprehensive microbiome training, layered, full of science and taking that earlier foundation to a whole new level πŸ’ͺπŸ’š. It's all interlinked and it all starts with healthy soil.

I have had a wonderful afternoon in the garden. Shifting compost, transplanting herbs and veg, w**ding and watering in. Chitted spuds have gone in too. Our polytunnel is bursting with end of season greens. I am behind on planting the next round - but life is a juggle and growing herbal medicines and foods sits around my practice and the rest of life!

πŸ“Έ 2 Flowering mizuna, lots of parsley, Claytonia, Aniseed greens and the last of the beetroot
πŸ“Έ 3 St John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) - the expanded bed with transplants
πŸ“Έ 4 & 5 Angelica archangelica transplanted babies
πŸ“Έ 6 Elecampane coming up and Lovage bursting forth
πŸ“Έ 7 Broadbeans (some in polytunnel for earlier crop, others in medicine garden

Lesson from one of my mentors πŸ˜…: An important part of life involves following the sun and appreciating restorative time 😊🐢❀️

Whilst Star focuses on those priorities, we have a busy pre-Easter dispensing day ahead. Herb deliveries to unpack, repeat prescriptions to dispense, Bee's Teas to make. My wonderful dispenser will be at the helm with that, whilst I focus on formulating a few individual blends, putting together a treatment plan, including nutritional recommendations and a few recipes, along with replying to emails and orders.

Some restorative time is definitely on the cards for part of the long weekend. But I am sorry to say the sun isn't due to show it's face here πŸ˜”πŸŒžπŸ’›

Thank you to the lovely women who joined me for yesterday's Spring Cleansing and Nourishing workshop πŸ’š And for generously sharing your pictures with me too πŸ™

We covered lots when if came to plant identification, common names versus scientific names, key characteristics of various plant families. We picked, we sampled, we cooked!Β

Supporting the body via spring cleansing was discussed - the real deal: lighter nutritionally dense and diverse meals, supporting digestive function and channels of elimination. Healthy hydration, movement and even considering cleansing in terms of what we consume mentally and emotionally!

It was a full and nourishing day 🌱πŸ₯˜πŸ₯—πŸ˜‹πŸ’š.Β

Do let me know if there are any particular wellbeing and herbal workshops you would like me to offer over the next few months! I am looking forward to firming up details soon 😊
